From what I've seen, pretty much every unit can fire at air-units, vampires are simply the specialized ones, like Wolverines I think.

The game is a sort of "Scissors Paper Stone" kind of arrangment. Infantry are weak to vehicles, vehicles are weak to air, air are weak to infantry.

Standard infantry squads work fine against tech 2 Hornets. Vampires work fine against higher tech air.
