I remember this game, oh yes, I do. Had over 100k player during beta, was so easy to do the content, such classic, they only stumbled once and lost all the players due to the unfortunate cash shop items.

Even though management had bad decision, this game remain a classic, perhaps Allods 2 that has better playabilty? The players remains somewhat below 2k active user per day.

The problem with the game isn't content. They have interesting concept and content.
The problem is management. If they focused on advertising the game and its P2P server. As well as some changes to revive older content. They might just get new fresh players playing the game.

It's very niche by now.

Also, anyone in North / South America who want to play this game (or come back to it after many years) need to know that - by now - the old NA servers don't exist anymore. The "main" server is based in Europe, and the vast majority of time-based events in the game (which covers a lot of end-game stuff, for PvE and PvP) is adjusted based on European time zones. So that means that if you have a job in North America, work until 4PM, get home by 5PM, most in-game events that end-game players needed to do are either already done, or in the process of being finished, because for them it's already 5+ to 6+ hours later; it's around 9PM or 10PM for them.

That's the biggest problem I ran into when I decided to come back last year for a few months. It was fine for just leveling up until level cap. But as soon as I hit level cap and needed to participate in end-game PvE and PvP stuff I hit a brick wall at lightspeed due to time zone differences. On Week-Ends when I didn't work it was alright, I could log-in at around midday and most activities were about to start and I could do them. But during week days... forget it, I missed about 80%+ activities and trailed behind with my character progression like there's no tomorrow.

During the "busy" day time hours (around midday to 5PM for North America time zones) there's maybe 150 to 200 players for each factions playing, so maybe 350 to 400 players total, and that's on Week-ends. Maybe 250 on week-days. Then about 90% of those players log out by around 7 or 8PM at most and the hubs and end-game zones become almost deserted with the occasional players here and there. There were times I was literally the only player walking around in the Imperial tower (the main hub for Empire players) for 2 or 3 hours in a row.

So yeah, be warned, there's essentially no North American servers anymore. And the majority of the players base are in Europe. Some in the Middle East, some in Asian countries, some in South America whom mostly play on the Alliance side; and the occasional North American players here and there, but about 80% of the players are in Europe; mostly French, German and from other European countries; many of them do speak English... but the problem about the time zone stuff remains in the end.
