I checked back on the game in 2020 and it is pretty empty sadly. Loved playing it as a kid.

P2P server, empire side has like 10 active players idk about f2p. Its still funn tho :)

The population is VERY, VERY, VERY low. That being said, I was recently informed that the league side has the most players whereas empire is mostly dead until mid evening.

I want to keep playing but theres no one ever online. This game is really good tho and there are way more popular mmos out there, that suck. Ive got 5 months left on sub but i only play a little bit since i get bored because no one else is ever around. Even games like runes of magic or rift, i run into people

I play on the sub server. The free server is almost as bad as runes of magic with the p2w, also theres just so many penalties on the free server. I totally would, but the sub server has no p2w at all, no cash shop or any of that crap so thats why i play it

Neither server is very populated. But we have a good guild and you will always have people to play with. The free server isnt much better, but remember your playing with people that pay 2 win there, small community = the people still there are whales so if u wanna pvp, youre gonna get smashed.

id try the free version, and if u fall in love with it (like i did its just got something special about it) then sub after,

As of 10 May, it's pretty populated now, haven't been bored a single bit and always had stuff to do!

The slow but sure downfall of this game is such an incredible shame. I've played since the open beta back when I was still in high school, and gradually seen the game turn more and more P2W and anti-F2P on the free servers. Logically, the population dropped like crazy.

Still, I found myself returning to this game over and over again on an annual basis because it was just such fun to play. I mean, running a melee healer with plate armor and simply dominating in open world pvp felt amazing. And for all the WoW rip-offs that exist, this one surely feels good and unique.

I've probably put in a good 1-2k hours over the years and although it's kinda 'wasted', it never really felt like that. Great atmosphere, interesting story and locations, a-ma-zing soundtrack which luckily is up on Youtube.
