If he starts destroying towers I would only build them up to level 2-3 depending which one it is as it be a waste of gold to rebuild them all fully
His blobs are harmless, best to save it to weaken him to the blobs state ASAP, also means he cannot destroy as many towers haha
2. Go with your usual setup for the level, then when the boss fight starts, replace any destroyed Archer or Artillery towers that are in range of the middle road (where he teleports to the most) with Crossbow Forts UPGRADED with AT LEAST 1 level of Barrage (IMPORTANT), since barrage significantly boosts the amount of damage Crossbows do.
3. If he kills a magic tower, replace with an Archmage, or level 3 wizard
4. If he kills a baracks near your exit, replace with level 3 barracks (at least) or templars
5. If he kills a tower on the top edge of the level, ignore it or just replace with a cheap tower, he rarely goes there, his first teleport in every stage will always be to the middle road.
6. Fully occupy all holders on the level. Do not upgrade any tower too much, do not use Axethowers or DWAARPS at all as they require a lot of gold to work. If you think your setup is complete, then just spam low level archer or magic towers on the remaining holders.
7. Use Alric, Sha'tra, or Ashbite if you are still struggling. Nivus cant even survive a direct hit from Lord Malagar or Umbra's attacks, meaning that he will be dead most of the time.
Here's Ironhide's guide if you're having troubles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HxehZ-ndgM
The first post was a bit unclear. I plenty had of fully upgraded towers, the 4 archer towers were just built solely to take out Umbra which is why I mentioned them. Based on the advice here, it seems like using Meteor Shower to take out Umbra's regular form as quickly as possible is what I need to do. Focusing on the blobs seems to be causing my downfall. Thank you for the tips and the guide!
NEVER upgrade archer towers to full power.. it's a waste of money..
When he starts zapping your towers, you want to replace them with archer towers with 1 upgrade only, the 6 bolts.. and stop there..
Do not replace the towers which he zaps on the far left and right corners, only replace the middle and bottom ones..
He will usually go from top to bottom so leave ur artillary at the very bottom
I should also mention that Nivus wasn't killed once durning this level. I actually got the Caveman achievement along with You Shall Not Pass! and Great Defender. Thanks again!
Congrats :D now have fun with Iron and Heroic
Hey bud, thanks for posting the screens ... used ur setup and worked like a charm.
T.
- northern two spots before the throne
- the two spots below them were necro towers (1x pestilence and death rider)
- the two spots below these towers were the two other mechas
- a knights templar before each exit, with two assassin's guilds further north, one on each side
- the rest a mix of crossbow forts (with barrage) and archmage towers (one of them not at level 3)
(I made screenshots and I would post them if I knew how.)
I built the fourth mecha just after Umbra woke up for the first time. A few of them got destroyed but I just made sure that at least two or so were still functioning, and that there are barracks to help stem the flow of mobs.
Tip: If a fully upgraded tower gets destroyed, build it again, but don't fully upgrade it too soon - it's likely to be destroyed again, and then you've wasted a lot of gold.
I used Nivus since his ability to teleport in this map was massively helpful, even though Umbra one-shotted him a few times.
Obviously since Umbra is mostly in the middle and you need to kill him as quickly as possible, that's where your main firing power should be, so I guess archmage towers or the like will work similarly well.
My skill tree: 4x archery, 3x barracks, 5x magic, 5x artillery, 5x meteor, 0x mercs.
Exited with 2 stars although I think that with a few more skills, 3 would be entirely possible.
Hope this helps.
