Can you try doing what cigumo suggested here (namely, downloading and running love.exe) so we can try to narrow down the causes for this issue?

Try running the gfxtest application linked here[github.com] and tell us how it goes.

When I go through the different tabs they all work just fine!

Since gfxtest ran just fine, I'm a bit stumped as to what could be causing your problem. It's likely you'll have to wait a bit until we push the next patch which includes a few more knobs to tweak.
One last thing, are you running any antivirus? If so, try turning it off and then launching the game.
I'm not running anything other than microsoft security essentials. I disabled it and nothing, same problem.
Urg :( I just want to play.
I might refund it for the time being.

I click Play in Steam and can choose Resolution etc, then click play from that menu and it doesn't load.
Windowed mode = frozen white screen
Fullscreen mode = frozen black screen
Full HD/HD makes no difference
Love.exe and gfxtest both work fine.
Disabled Avast as seen in screenshot.
Would appreciate some help to get the game working, I love Kingdom Rush!

Tried console and and log file, but console shows only the log file generation and the log file is completely blank.
Sorry to hear that. What OS version are you running? Any other information regarding your system would be great: cpu, gpu, gfx drivers version, etc.
Also, would you mind redownloading gfxtest and running it again (I just uploaded a new version which is a bit more verbose.)
