What to do with extra stars?

What to do with extra stars? When everything is already pumped? I have a lot of them and they are useless. Think of a new use for them. Otherwise it looks stupid and unfinished.

Some players aren't very good at the game, so having excess stars allows them to still get max upgrades without having to beat all the harder challenge levels.

With the bonus levels that were patched in later, there are indeed a lot more excess stars than there were when the game first came out, though.
