Kingdom Rush Frontiers

Kingdom Rush Frontiers

Games similar to Kingdom Rush?
I've played all 3 Kingdom Rush games and I've played Orcs must die 1 +2. Any good games that are similar to Kingdom Rush you guys could recommend?

Check the Tower Defense category in the Steam store :)

The most similar I have played are: Go Home Dinosaurs!, Hero Defense, Revenge of the Titans and Sang-Froid - Tales of Werewolves.

I'm a tower defense fan.

Do not miss Dungeon Warfare.

Do not miss Defense Grid 1.

Do not miss Revenge of the Titans.

Super Sanctum TD is worth a look (but punishingly hard and agonizingly simplistic).

Sol Survivor is drab and boring (and badly designed). I don't recommend it unless you are desperate for multiplayer coop TD.

Maybe check out Plants vs Zombies if you like charming cartoon flash TD with a slow, grindy pace. Cynically designed and shallow though, and the developer/publisher is... uh... prone to being nasty and unpleasant. I really loath them and uninstalled PVZ a long time ago (when they fired all the PVZ2 designers as soon as the game was finished) even though the game itself is decent, straightforward fun.

You can skip Defender's Quest (imo) but probably check it out anyway to see if you don't mind very simplistic math based TD with a really, really awful story and graphics that would have been insulting in 1990. I wanted to like DQ going in but couldn't help but hate it. But a lot of people like it.

Skip Dungeon Defenders 1/2. Grindy, pointless nonsense.

Skip Prime World Defenders. Really, really grindy, shallow, and dull.

Skip anything with Bloons in the name. They're some of the most cynical, outright bad TDs ever made.

Skip the entire iBomber series unless you like really, really badly designed TDs.

Skip Unstoppable Gorg. It's incredibly charming but just as incredibly terrible as a game. Really, really poor design.

This was all off the top of my head pretty much... I'll probably come back and add some more entries later. I love TDs but I only play them on PC so my TD playing is limited to whatever exists there. I was actually there at the beginning when TDs really got going with war3, making maps, including some of the very first TDs, (having already been involved with defense maps a bit in Starcraft). I'd like to say I made really good quality, popular maps for war3, but the fact is I never did anything terribly notable, and certainly nothing great like Element or Gem.

There's still a lot more room for the genre to improve and expand. We're only just starting to see good tower defense games (and other games integrated TD mechanics into their own games of other genres).

Warstone is pretty decent.

Warstone is on my wishlist but I'm waiting for a sale. It doesn't look like it is worth what they're asking.

I'm back into playing Dungeon Warfare again and I've got to say its possibly the best overall tower defense game out there. Maybe better than KR:F. Definitely far more replayability (but not as charming of course). The mechanics are also a lot better, and deeper (combo system, tons of possibilities with physics traps, etc). It's like Orcs Must Die without the hero in a top down view and pixel graphics.

I'm still waiting on Origins. Will buy on launch for sure. Have 100% both KR and KR:F twice now and still enjoy playing them.

Could you tell me where I can find this? Doesn't seem to be on Steam or any of the usual places.

Sorry, Dungeon Warfare. I think it was called Dungeon Defense during early access... or I'm crazy maybe lol... ;-)

Evil Defenders is a CARBON COPY of Kingdom Rush, with a couple of things added. Hope you like RPG elements!

Evil Defenders looks far more simplistic and on rails than any of the KR games. It looks more like a Bloons TD to me.

Another vote for Dungeon Warfare. I liked Bloons but, on every level, your only really trying to earn enough cash to build a sun god tower. Very little strategy.

......

I disagree about Sanctum and Unstopable Gorg. I found gorg to be a good game in an almost puzzle like sense..

Gemcraft is insanely grindy.
