Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
General

Q. Why is ABE VR free?
A. We created ABE VR to bring the existing short story of ABE the robot to life in a more intense way so that you yourselves can feel the fear of being in ABE’s presence as well as the emotional connection. Since ABE the original short film was available for people to watch for free we wanted to share his story again to people wishing to experience it in VR for free.

Q. Is ABE VR a game?
A. We think of it more as a VR short film or cinematic experience. Although it is made and runs in a game engine the level of interaction between you and the environment is more comparable to a film where you are the one of the characters.

Q. Are you planning on releasing a feature length version of ABE VR or a full length game?
A. We immensely enjoyed developing ABE VR and feel very connected to him as a company. We would definitely like to explore what we can do with such an interesting character more in the future, however we do not currently have anything to announce regarding future releases of ABE related games or experiences.

Q. Who developed ABE VR?
A. We are Hammerhead VR, a UK based specialist VR company. You can find out more about us, our large portfolio of VR experiences and any updates on projects to come HERE[www.hammerheadvr.com].

Technical

Q. The screen shows ‘Tracking Sensor not Detected’?
A. We are aware of this problem which is only affecting viewers on the HTC Vive. This issue will be resolved in our next ABE VR patch. However the problem should not affect you viewing the full ABE VR experience in the meantime.

Q. Monitor view/Screen mirroring seems to be unavailable?
A. We are still investigating into the cause of this issue. On our end the build mirrors correctly, it just has issues when played through Steam VR. In the meantime Steam VR has a built in screen mirroring system you can use whilst our native mirroring has issues.

Q. How do I reset the orientation, so I am placed directly on top of the body to face the correct way?
A. By clicking the ‘left control’ key on your keyboard the camera will reset so you are placed in the correct way to view the experience.
