offline play

hello, i have a question, why i cant play MW2 in offline steam mode, while yesterday i played in steam offline mode, is this bug or anti-piracy protection?

Yes this is because game leaked to torrents. We verify every launch right now. With the patch we will return offline play. Sorry for temporary inconvenience.

"Every launch" is great. More likely every time the game is loading. I've allowed internet connection on start, then blocked it and played a single player campaigh match and after that the game kicks me out with an "Data loading error" due to your always online DRM.

@0x90 that's the problem with always online DRM, they think they're hurting the pirates while in reality they are hurting their playerbase and themselves.

glad i do research before i buy a game ... this always online drm is the turn off for me . i wanted to buy and try this game , it looks fun , but if i cant play offline when i travel ... no thanks.

and yes ... anti piracy bs really hurts the players and the company. the pirates dont care , then they play another game . who actually cares about pirates. every company i heard of that "coexisted" with pirates , profited from it. every company that tried to " fight" using DRM always online .... well we all know their ♥♥♥♥ storm stories.

You should be proud that your game leaked on torrents and has downloads, because someone actually noticed it and spent time to crack it (even though it would be hella easy since steam drm is the easiest to crack), and even upload it and seed it. You have RECOGNITION, you don't have to fight piracy. It's like trying to fight prostitution, there are men who will have sex with prostitutes just because they are incapable of finding a mate. It is how it is.

Well I see... You all of course know better what to do. These all is a big disuppointment for me both pirates and players saying something like this.
I already said that this would be changed in an update.

Wanted to buy, but not anymore. I hate always connected DRM. You just lost another customer. I cannot even play offline in my steam when travelling.
I have Mushroom Wars 1 but will remove this one from wish list and forget about this game and future games from this dev.

BTW always online is not true now. You need internet for the first time connection and after it you can play campaign offline.
