How to Get DR2 Working for Windows 8 64bit

FOLLOW STEPS EXACTLY! Don't you dare skip any steps!

1. Uninstall “Microsoft Games for Windows - LIVE Redistributable” AND “Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace”

2. Reboot Computer (DON'T SKIP THIS)

3. Download GFWL here:http://www.xbox.com/en-US/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient

4. Right click the GFWL installer, go to properties and change its compatibility to “Windows 7”. Save and exit.

5. Right click the installer, and choose “Run as administrator”

6. After it’s installed, run the GFWL game again.

Voila!

This worked for me! Oh and DON'T SKIP ANY OF THESE STEPS!

Have Windows 8.1 Pro and this did not work for me.
GFWL.exe keep crashing on me every time I try to run it

This works - but then it says there's an update for GFWL when you sign in. If you accept the update it doesn't work anymore. If you decline it won't let you download your profile.

I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro N.

What if the two programs above aren't installed for some odd reason?
I tried running the base game and in theory steam installed GFWL but nothing like that is listed in my uninstallable list of programs. I just did a freash restart so i'm going to start with step 3 and see what happens. Frankly i'm not going to be shocked if it fails but worth a shot.

Well it worked so awsome! I'm going to assume the GFWL stuff didn't install so my game wouldn't launch. Why the hell did any dev think it was a good idea to use this API

How do you even get to the place where you can uninstall the microsoft games thing?

How do you even get games for windows live to work. First I go to the GWFL website, try to download the client. Not a damn thing happens. It's like the website, itself is broken. I tried visiting other software websites, still nothing. Even tried running the client... or tried to run it in Window's XP and 7 compatibility modes. Not a damn thing happens.

I'm running Windows 8 (not 8.1) on an ASUS G75VW.

It's starting to look like I just have to wait till Capcom decides to patch it early next year.
