dead rising 2 vs off the record
is it worth owning both versions ? I've never played through 2 or off the record but I own this one, was just curious if it was worth it to run through both

Personaly I think its worth playing both. But you might still have some weird wiplash going from Off the record to 2. Since OTR adds stuff to the game like extra bosses, new area, Sandbox mode and new cutscenes. Those are simply not present in vanilla DR2. OTR is best described as remixed versions of DR2, so ofc you will have some heavy overlap between both.

2 for story, otr for content

OTR is DR2 on steroids

I would start with Dead Rising 2, definitely, then if you want to revisit the game eventually check out Off the Record for a fun remix. I haven't beaten OtR yet, but I am already enjoying the concept as someone who has played Dead Rising 2 a couple times already in the past.

if you play a game for gameplay REasons only, OTR is the superior version, if you like story maybe dead rising 2, but again after you beat dead rising 2 one time theres really no reason to play it much, otr is a much improved version of that game since i only care for gameplay and story for me is mostly a ba ckground thing i still love the endings and stuff, for me otr is the way to go, i would never recommend anyone to go with the original dr2 better to watch the story on youtube and enjoy a better gameplay instead.

only difference ive noticed between the two is youre not chuck green, and u dont have to bring zombrex to base to katey. You still need zombrex but you just use it on urself.

play both
if you never played dead rising 2, you should first then play off the record, but if you have before or just watched the story online, then you can move on to OTR. I like both but OTR is superior in its own way

Off the Record has game improvements.

While Original 2 was the intended way the story should go

DR2 is canon but OTR is just an upgraded version in most ways.

how so ?
I would just get both honestly the original story is so worth playing though. Off the Record is fun but it isn't canon to the story.

I downloaded a third party app to get my controller working as for my audio I changed the bitrate for it to 16 bit cd quality
