Should I play OTR directly ?

I haven't played any Dead Rising series so far, and I have retail copy of Off the Record now thanks to my friend. Shall I start with DR 2 or directly with OTR ?

I searched both of them, and they have same scenario only main character is different. I am confused, I need help about it.

Play Dead Rising 1 first (watch a Let's Play if you don't own an xbox 360) at least. Anyway, Off The Record is a better game but beyond a few minor enhancements, most of the changes will go over your head if you aren't familar with Dead Rising 1 or 2.

OTR stars the character from the first game and most of the humor comes from the fact that the entire story is his imagination on how the events from 2 would go on if he was there as the character from DR2 tells him the story (they meet in the 360 exclusive downloadable title Dead Rising 2: Case West that takes place after DR2)

So yeah, you'd want to play Dead Rising 2 before OTR but you really should experience Dead Rising 1 in some manner first.

Thanks for reply, but now it is not on sale off, it is full price (₺ 55) . If they have almost same scenario... I don't know can I play it twice.

If you don't give the tiniest bit of ♥♥♥♥ about story and are willing to accept you'll miss 90% of the jokes, just play Off The Record. You'll miss a lot of the humor but it is better gameplay wise then 2.

First: What currency is that?
Second: There are quite a few key differences in the two stories. Different villain, changes in dialog, change in survivor lineup... If you play Off The Record first, you will be disappointed with DR2 because there is less.

1) Turkish currency, and as a student it is much for 5 year old game.
