My xbox one controller not working?

I have a xbox one gamepad and it wont work. Any fixes out there someone can tell me? thnx.

Okay.. I found something that MIGHT help. Some people in gamfaqs are saying that the drivers need to be updated. I am going to post what I am reading, so you can do the steps yourself too. And- if things work or don't let me know. I get the feeling the update might help. www.gamefaqs.com/boards/626632-dead-rising-2-off-the-record/60611875?page=1 That's the discussion with the steps. They have your hardware update for the controller posted on there too!

Controller support for Dead Rising 2 on the PC has *never* worked as far as in concerned. i pluged in my Wired 360 and the "Controller" optin in the "PC Settings" menu is greyed out regardless

sorry to say, but it doesnt work at all

I don't know about it never working at all... my wired 360 controller works perfectly fine with this game.

Like a lot of games you gotta make sure you plug it in before starting the game up. (Not trying to be rude here, but you'd be surprised how many people don't know that so please don't take it the wrong way.)

I don't know what to tell you about the xbox one deal though, I think you'll have to wait for an update from either microsoft or capcom to fix that one.

I can verify that it the 360 pads worked with the GFWL version and no longer work after the Steam update. This is not the only place I've come across this complaint...

I can confirm that X360 Wired controller works perfectly, do you have "Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories" installed?

Try starting the game first.

Then after it gets to the first area where you have control of Frank
1) Pause the Game
2) Find the PC Settings
3) Change controller to ENABLE.

This fixed it for me. By default, controllers are disabled.
If somebody wants to start a thread to say this, by all means do so.

Sparky that is the problem, the option that says "Enable/disable controller" is grayed out for me.

Edge, does this "Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories" work for a xbox one game pad? and what is it exactly?

Not sure if you're referring to wired controllers specifically, but my 360 wireless controller certainly worked fine with the GFWL version, and it works equally fine now.

Yeah, mine is greyed out too. I have a rock candy which is the pc version of a 360 controller. I re -intailized my controller and still nada... maybe if I plug a straight 360 controller?

Rock Candy is not the "pc version" of it. Rock Candy's controlled has an entirely different hardware ID.
