DR2:OTR Corrupted save fix ( Cannot Start Game/White screen, crazy number stats and day that stuff)
Yo mon this fix should stop the whole white blank screen and broken save files after you did that migration thingy,

Step 1: Turn off Cloud
Right click on dead rising 2 off the record and go to properties then hit the updates tab and un-check the box that says "enable cloud synchronisation"

Step 2: Delete Saves
Delete saves in the DR2:OTR directory found at: C:\Users\(Your Username)\Documents\My Games\Dead Rising 2 Off The Record\saves and delete all the saves here.

Step 3: Steam ID
Now this is where things get interesting. Go to your steam id folder ( found at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(Your Steam ID Here) and find the DR2:OTR id folder. The no. of this folder is 45770.
What I did was delete the whole folder but if you delete all thats inside and leave the folder still their it will do the same thing.

Then start up the game and the saves will still be corrupted but now you can start the game without it breaking. To get rid of the corrupted saves just make a new game over it.

This should fix your problem but you will have to keep cloud saving turned off for it to work,, but thats the cost of fixing capcoms mess i guess.

Thats it, thats all you have to do. Thanks to Cjc545 for helping me out with this one. Have a good day zombie sliceing day

I didn't think about Steam saves, I deleted the ones in my documents and didn't once think about the cloud. Thanks!

Not true about having to keep cloud saving turned off.
  • Turn off Steam's cloud save feature.
  • Launch the game and save over your corrupted save file(s).
  • Exit the game.
  • Turn Steam's cloud save feature back on.
  • Launch the game.
  • A Steam prompt should come up before the game fully launches, asking you if you want to download the older save file on the cloud or upload the newer save file on your computer. Choose to upload the newer safe file on your computer.

Your corrupted save file(s) should now be replaced with save file(s) that are not corrupted and properly uploaded to Steam's cloud save.
