Once you've opened rendersettings.ini up, look for a line called
UseMultiCore = true and change it to
UseMultiCore = false
This will fix the infinite loading screen at that particular part of the game. However, setting that command-line to false WILL lead to absymal performance throughout. You may change the command-line back to true as soon as you get past the Case in the game and save your progress.
I had the same problem and this fixed it.Thank you!!!
Look at this, 4 years later and this is still helping out players like me! Thanks!
I'm hoping to get this game to a consistently playable state, dumb as that might be.
I've used x360ce to make the game recognize my Switch Pro controller, I've figured out how to avoid crashing on startup, and I thought I was done, until I came across this bug.
Thanks! It worked for me.
Everyone who have issues in these games, to avoid issues in DR2 and DR2 Off the record:
-JUST PLAY THE GAME AT 60Hz AND VSYNC ON
You don't need to meddle with files.
