how does keyboard and mouse work?
I remember when it was first released you couldn't re-bind a lot of keys, can you re-bind movement to the arrow keys now?

Yeah you can't rebind the keys ingame unfortunately.

There are other ways though :
How to Customize Dead Rising 2 PC Controls[segmentnext.com]

Summary (from link above):
Find the file here ....../Dead Rising 2 Off the Record/Data/Controls/keymap.txt
Backup the file just incase you mess up , and modify the keybinds to your choosing
Save

Also Autohotkey works in this game to, this is what I use.

Here is the script I use to rebind the keys:

;These lines for (! == Alt) hotkey, <!Q, Psescipt ;============== ;============== ;Movement Keys (WASD = UP,LEFT,DOWN,RIGHT) Up::w Left::a Down::s Right::d w::Up a::Left s::Down d::Right ;Jump Numpad1::space NumpadEnd::space ;Activate/USE Numpad0::e NumpadIns::e ;Map NumpadDiv::Tab ;Survivor NumpadDot::q NumpadDel::q ;Inventory navigation (1,3 inv left/right 2 take) Numpad4::1 NumpadLeft::1 Numpad5::3 NumpadClear::3 Numpad6::2 NumpadRight::2 Numpad7::c NumpadHome::c ;Drop Item Delete::x ;Watch Insert::t ;Shift Remap Enter::Shift ;Enter Remap Space::Enter ;=========================================== Psescipt: Suspend Pause,,1 SoundBeep return ;===========================================
