Can someone confirm for me that this is normal or should I get an online option as well? I can only create games that are either System Link or Offline which is a pain as I got this for the co-op.

Did you create a GFWL and sign in?
Existing XBL account works as well if you have one.

Yes I've signed in with my existing account which works and I've activated the product.

Hey do you guys want to start a multiplayer match if you get it working correctly? I just purchased the game and it worked fine after putting in the CD key and signing into live. Besides the fact that there is literally 0 people online.

See i'm thinking it is because my gold recently expired but I didn't think that was an issue with GFWL and PC games

I thought that was the case.

I've just allowed an exception on my AV software for GFWL and LP2 and it seems to be working now. So it was either that or GFWL acting up when I did it the first time.

Yes just set your connection type in the campaign screen to offline.
