Game Not Launching (1/2023 Fix)

The issue with the game not launching at all is from having no valid gfwl version installed. It seems you must have a certain version installed before the game will boot. I encountered the game not launching issue and tried a few different gfwl versions before I got it to work. Here is how:

Download:

http://download.gfwl.xboxlive.com/content/gfwl-public/redists/production/xliveredist.msi

and

http://download.gfwl.xboxlive.com/content/gfwl-public/redists/production/gfwlclient.msi

and create an Xbox account if you do not have one:

https://www.xbox.com/en-US/live

Install both the client and the redistributable. The game should now launch. Once you are in you must sign-in with an Xbox account. The gfwl client will update once and ask you to restart the game. Do this. Once you restart, sign-in again and it will update the game's files and ask you to restart the game once more. From this point just sign into your account and you will be good to go. From what I could see the gfwl services are fully working including co-op play. Enjoy.

the game lauches now with the 2 download thing but connecting to xbox is just impossible. all it does is letting me give the email then after it just LOCKS the password and cant change anything and even if i press next it just do an none stop loading

It was real fidgety when I was using it as well. Make sure the account is setup properly through the website and it might take you a few trys when signing in through the game.

Yes. I would recommend making it on the website and making sure you can login properly on the website. Make sure your account is verified via email and all that jazz. Then try logging in through the game.

nvm found the problem. wasent that at all tho. but after its asking me a key..where does that come from

It should have been a pop up screen when running the game for the first time. You may have told Steam not to show it to you again.

I think you can find it in the settings for the game as in right click on the game in steam library and it's in there somewhere.

i have the downloaded files and ive had an xboxlive account and signed in but it still wont load

Got it to launch, however it's stuck on not responding every time I launch it.

This game is real finicky guys. You literally have to keep trying to do the same thing in every way you can. Signing in with username saved/username+password saved/automatically all can have different effects. It's weird.

Not sure about your problem most likely you need a redistributible from steam or a driver/computer issue.

Fixed it by limiting CPU cores with msconfig to 6, game will not run if more than 6 cores are detected on your pc
