Cool story bro, except the game works just fine.
I also agree that the set up required of the user is not in any way difficult or warrants the avoidance or refunding of the game.
Therefore, I feel that the problem is two fold:
Capcom not putting just a little more (but still important) effort into the port;
players not putting just a little more (but still important) effort into getting a game to run based on the trust that it would be worth it.
If either one of those issues were fixed, then Lost Planet 2 on Steam would be saved.
However, I don't think the majority of players are going to change any time soon (ignorant, short-sighted kids these days), but I feel that if someone is not willing to give a game a decent chance (by putting at least the tiny amount of effort in required to fix their install of Lost Planet 2) then they reap their reward of missing out on a good game.

However however, the solution I propose, though not entirely satisfying, is to reach out to the gaming community to convince those players who would give a good game a fair chance based solely on the recommendations and guidance of other players, to do so for Lost Planet 2. If you agree with me, then help me figure out how best to do this.

my piont is that its a unessary hassile and people on the pc platform realy don't like gfwl. Them not buying the game over it may not send a message to the publishors but by them refunding it and directly stating its over gfwl sends a message to capcom that it is a problem. keep in mind microsoft isn't supporting gfwl anymore it has a different program for online gaming now and i don't think they will stop capcom for releasing a direct port to steam on the grounds they already let from software release dark souls on steam without gfwl.
