Is there a way to mod out the utterly awful control tips and auto aim?

Seriously, I have no idea how to even dodge in the mech suits because it says press Y on the controller. But what is that on a keyboard? Who knows.

Is there any fix for this, or at least a handy cheat sheet?

Also, the auto aim in this game makes it harder to play. Any way to turn it off?

Press 5 to bring up the "PDA" menu and go to controls. There you can change your keybindings and turn off auto aim.

Also, to adjust mouse sensitivity you'll want to adjust not only the mouse sensitivity setting but also controller sensitivity because Capcom didn't know what they were doing and they both affect each other.

Is there a way to make your character not move like a slug and get locked into 10 second animations every 5 seconds?

This game is really, REALLY hard because of how utterly broken the control of the character is.

Rolling is faster. There is also the anchor-cancel technique to traverse faster.

rolling takes energy for one... and also doesn't let you dodge all attacks.

Also doesn't help make the VS not the most useless things on the planet. I'm stuck fighting some chick in a mech and she has like 4+ weapons and is invulnerable. Have no clue how to kill her. She'll kill any VS I get into in about 5 shots, and it's impossible to dodge all of her attacks.

ugh, beat her, but just by using have my energy face tanking her missiles on foot while firing rockets at her face... had no idea they were doing anything, but eventually the mission complete screen popped up outta nowhere.

Man this game is reaaaaal janky.

It's a lot of trial and error. Remember you can hover with the VS you find in that building. Keeps you up long enough to dodge her laser. And keep aim at the knees and "backpack" since they're weakspots for practically all VSs. You can also shoot the rockets she fires out of the air. Very possible to kill her. Just takes time. :)

I know the back is a weak point... but I'll be darned impressed if its possible to get behind her. She tracks your every move, even through walls and smoke. And with no dash or dodge in the VS (I know it says there is, but I've hit every key on the keyboard and there isn't) you can't just walk around her.

Her laser also only really hits me if I'm stuck in another animation for the decade after getting hit with a missile. The fact that she fires missiles every 5 seconds is the problem.

Check your settings. I keep the VS dash button the same as crouch since it's easy to relate to rolling on foot. The game is pretty niche now even though it sold well back in the day. Not everyone agrees with the movement. I think it's great.
