You suck; get better and past floor 39 of Bloody Palace.
More constructively, if you've played DMC3 Dante it might be easier to get used to DMC4 Dante.
Dante has blocks, dodges, air dodges, 3 more Devil Arms, and 2 more Fire Arms (+Fire Arm combos); generally more options than Nero, and you obviously don't use them.
He doesn't have Devil Bringer (nor Exceed, or 'Air Stinger') though, and he's less straighforward to play than Nero.
Get better. If you want to play Dante better try doing something other than Stinger, Basic Rebellion Combo, and Dance Macabre; and switch styles and weapons more than once per 2.5 minutes.
Append: Before anyone tosses some remark about me being elitist or something similar, I would have given him more [relatively] respect had he blamed himself for poor play instead of the game for not being simple enough.
General tips: Use shotgun and trickster on the witches, always be charging your shotgun. Keep moving, hitting enemies into the air and air attack/dashing forward (back, forward+melee attack button). Use Gilgamesh combos and Rebellion + Swordmaster on the backs of frosts and angels. Use Pandora and shotgun on Chimeras. Royal Guard for blocking+redirecting (it's worth it to learn). Unless it's scarecrows, I never really use Lucifer so no advice there.
I started using the shotgun against the scarecrows, much quicker, plus I have become much better with Dante while quick sqitching but I still don't feel totally invincible or able to take a group of enemies and smoke em quick. I lack crowd control and that sucks more with Dante =/
Well at least that is some form of admittance. It's still kind of funny how you thought you were proficient with the game especially when the bar is set so high

The Blitz ("Teleport Beast"), the way it spawns on Stage 18, you have enough time to charge Drive! (Locked-On, Back+ Swordmaster Style Action) to max, 3 hits (tap fast enough to shoot 3 times) from a fully charged Drive! will remove the electricity and stun it.
You also have enough time to open Pandora (Locked-On, Forward + Gunslinger Style Action) and remove electricity that way, same applies sometimes when it's stuck shooting lightning.
You can also stick or detonate Lucifer pins on to it without taking damage so long as you're not making contact.
If you're feeling like a real badass, you can strike it normally and block the feedback damage with Royal Guard, this will reset the combo string though.
Of course, shooting guns, and gun combos with Gunslinger are still options.
Dante's form of crowd control can easily be Lucifer's pins, since when a few of them detonate, they'll stagger/stun the enemy, and that multiple pins can be stuck onto multiple enemies regardless if they have shields or are trying to block, plus their detonation and position can be directly controlled.
Don't know what you're doing wrong with the Berial ('Fire Boss') though. Since you atleast unlocked Hard mode, you should know how the fight goes by now.
