Way I beat it - stay close to your companions and spam their abilities while hitting the enemies yourself. I also put a bunch of blessing encounters in hopes of finding a combat one and was lucky enough to get a hammer damage blessing. With that blessing, I managed to beat Return to Lysa Hora with 7 seconds left. Without any blessings and using a rusty sword I was usually short a few seconds, either due to ogre or elder surviving.

To ensure that you have multiple opportunities to beat the encounter, add it to The Wheel and/or The Tower - these have multiple levels and easy resource gatherting, while The Wheel also has an event that allows you to replay any even from your deck.

Hope that helps.

I gave Veles 200 hp and when he turned into a demon he had more damage and I was about 3 seconds. Thanks

After failing at this a bunch of times it occurred to me that this event isn't labeled as "Requires Veles", which clued me in that this was not intended to be run with Veles as the chosen companion. So here's what I did:

1. Use the Chariot encounter and get the extra soldiers to rally with you.
2. Use a companion other than Veles, such as Ariadne (Blacksmith with a big hammer)

Do this and you can enter the combat with Grobben, Veles, and your other companion (3 companions at once), plus the extra soldiers. Then, as stated earlier, spam every companion ability you can, remembering that they recharge almost instantly in this combat. Ariadne and Veles are particularly powerful. Ariadne will chop away at anything with significant health, making even the Ogre a non-issue. I think I had around 10-12 sec left on the timer when the last Vampire fell.

If that isn't enough, get the Necromancer's Call Supplies Blessing (Carriage of the Departed > Sunken Catacombs > Necromancer's Call) as well. That gives you four Skulls on your side.
