Silver token shards on cards?
What are these? I know on weapons and stuff you need to do X things to unlock but I am talking about the little silver shards on cards such as the general store (example, i don't think that has one)

I did seem them all connect once but do you have to have 5 shards in your deck for it to do it? I'm so confused by them!

The silver shards work the exact same way as tokens on cards except you need five shards to form a token and acquire it. The method of unlocking the shard depends on the card itself and how you beat the card, in the same way as regular tokens.

I still don't understand sorry. I know you need 5 tokens, as I said, I've seen it unlock, but do you need 5 cards in a single game and have to unlock them all then? or can you add just one per game? Also I don't see the unlock requirements like you do on the gear

Once you unlock a shard it stays unlocked so you don't need to do five in one game. When you inspect a card with a shard on it, it should say how many more shards you need for the next token. Unlock requirements depend on the card. Sometimes the game will give you an unlock hint when you fail. I recommend experimenting with different ways to beat the card. I think there's also a thread on this forum where the shard unlock conditions are discussed or you can check the community guides section. Hope this helps.

I'm talking about the Encounter cards like arm wrestling or The duel. They have a silver broken shard on it, but there's no requirements. It says like 3 out of 5 shards collected etc. Is that what you mean?

Encounter cards with shards on them won't tell you what the unlock condition is as it is different for every card. It is up to the player to figure out how to unlock them or by simply reading a guide. Sometimes the game will tell you why you failed to unlock the shard at the end of the card encounter but not always (similar to when the game tells you why you failed to get the gold token for a challenge level). When it says 3 out of 5 shards collected, it just means that when you get 2 more shards you'll receive a token that will unlock another card at the end of the level.

Those two specific cards (arm wrestling and duel) have multiple sequential encounters (joust is another one that is similar). For arm wrestling, everytime you encounter it, you will face a tougher opponent where the dice requirement gets higher (until you lose, in which case you will start over and encounter the beginning opponent). To get that shard, I think you have to defeat one of the tougher opponents where the dice requirement is like 20 or 22. The duel card is similar, where everytime you encounter the card and beat the opponent, the next time you encounter it , the opponent will be tougher. To get the shard for that one, I think you have to beat the final opponent which is a brimstone knight. If you are having trouble with specific card unlocks, there are several helpful guides in the community section or use the search function on the forum to see if the question has already been asked/answered.
