I could have maybe accepted the sword if say you gained life on every hit or something (so while you have a tiny max health pool, you're constantly healing in battle). But as it is, there is no reason to ever use that weapon.
After all that effort, I was expecting a special upgrade, not a side-grade which was full of tradeoffs. It looks pretty in my inventory, but I'd have to contrive a deck especially for using it, and even then, I'd be disappointed in the regular damage output. :(
Love the game, but felt like this aspect of it was a slap in the face.
Also, I would appreciate it if we get to visit the forest one more time before being granted that weapon.
If there was anything I would change,it is that it should either be part of your starting equipment (since you worked so hard for it, and the sword has recognized you as its wielder), or have a way to more easily draw it from your deck (like an Elder's Gift for brimstone cards).
It's the most powerful weapon in the game by far and the weapon abitily kills most enemies in one hit.
I like that the final super weapon is something a bit wierder than a Sword of Infinity +1 that you don't even need by then.
The penalty really is a ♥♥♥♥♥, but it's compensated very well by Malaclypse, Monk's Vitality, which seems to show up every time if you add the 6 gold Prayer card.
Now if it was something like double the damage of other weapons, sure, that would make sense. But for such a piddly bonus, it's just not worth the effort.
Brimstone cards aren't supposed to be "worth it" to the average player, with moderate to decent rewards for extreme risk or penalty. It's meant to feel like playing with fire to a questionable degree. In general, I don't think they're ever meant to feel like the optimal choice, but still being attractive to certain people. In that regard, I think the Blood Crescent is an ideal example of a Brimstone card.
