Need tips/clarification on Hierophant
Heya

Wondering a few things about the Hierophant mission. I did it last night, (much to my displeasure because of one mission and my circumstance)
But what im wondering is, what are the right choices to make I guess

I dont know how to do spoiler tags here. So ill just be vague. Im pretty sure I made the right choice. When I did, the text said "you've uncovered the assassin!". I paid 20 gold to one of them, thats always loyal to gold. And drank with the one who is truthful when drunk. Both implied the person I picked was the same, yet I only got something like 14/18 clues.

Anyway Im wondering if I picked the right person, furthermore, im wondering what exactly is necessary to really complete the mission. Do I seriously need every clue? Ill be blunt, the encounters were extremely frustrating. I dont believe they are fair/thought out well. I seen todays patch fixed something w goblins.

Anyway yeah so the Hierophant completed for me, but I didn't get the token. Do I need all clues? Did I pick the wrong person?

Getting ALL the clues will probably mean that I'll have to grind this mission a bit
They arent all the assassin. In the beta when I was messing around I tried picking the wrong person. You lose doing that, you should try it yourself!

Also for the OP.
You have to type [ spoiler ] and then [ / spoiler ] without the spaces between your words to add a spoiler.

Kinda like this

Thanks for the tips all

And for further clarification, so far this quest seems to have changed DRAMATICALLY from yesterday.

Im guessing they patched the goblin encounters, not the creatures themselves. Last night the same quest, the same floor (last "job" before murder) Goblin encounter included 4 (FOUR) additional enemy cards.

Im glad they fixed that. Now it was just 2 anarchists thruout. Fair and square. Excellent job, Defiant!

So I've done this quest three times now and I've managed to get all the clues but 1 each time. I gain the trust of all the suspects, ask them all the questions, exhaust all the dialogue trees and drink with/bribe them all at the end and I'm still a clue short. What gives?

Only thing coming to mind is that you’re missing the clue about how the assassin is a liar.

Haha I just did it! All 19 clues and the assassin was
Grindan, again

Finally got that damned token!

Far as the guy above, you must be missing a clue from the leader. Exaust all his dialogue as well, including in the beginning.

Sometimes it is not the ones listed, Seen it be Rowena, she says she's from the 7th instead of the 3rd.. and a few other inconsitencies

YO WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Ok so I did this ♥♥♥♥ like 10 times now. I figured out that With the information that you know, one of them will lie about a detail. That's your guy

BUT I ALSO DISCORED THAT IF YOU REVIEW YOUR CLUES TOO MANY TIMES IT DOESN'T ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MATTER BECAUSE THE KILLER WILL BE DONE WITH HIS BUISNESS.

I WAS ABOUT TO ACCUSE THE GUY (%^#&*^$*#(&^#&*^%@^

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I finally had a run with enough gold to get all the clues after 10+ attempts, and then the dice completely screwed me over. This is one hell of a gold token to get! The combination of requiring such a huge amount of gold while also only giving limited chances even if you get that gold is really harsh, especially since I usually have to sacrifice life to get the gold needed and then the fight afterwards becomes a challenge as well!

Use the ring which gives +2 to your total dice roll. That helped me out for the dice rolls at the end

Yes, this mission is furstrating as heck and requires you to select cards specifically for this. If you don't alt+f4 to restart at failure to gamble/steal I don't know how to get it done either.

You need to get all clues (and probably accuse the correct person) to get the gold token.
If you don't get all clues but accuse the correct person, you get the silver token.
I suspect you get the silver token even if you supect the wrong person but maybe have to fight much more. Or maybe you plain fail it.

Just like "Pickpocket" this seems to be for the completionist.

Looks like people at https://steamcommunity.com/app/456670/discussions/0/1483235412213283571/ have figured it out though.

It's fun to read people rant about the mission :D

In my first successful run without all clues, It was not Gandrin. It was the other guy. Surely that's randomized (or they change it from update to update but probably randomized)
Pendanyk Nov 26, 2017 @ 8:53am
It's randomized, but the characteristics and what people say (except for the assassin, who's telling lies) is always the same.

The only hard part about this is if you have bad luck in the gambits (Dice and the Pendulum), as you can only like 2 or 3 times before time runs out (if you want all the clues that is).
But the money? If you have the right cards (Goblin Town) and/or equipment (Golden Shield, Exquisite Blade, Bounty's Helm, which gives you a gold gain card every combat encounter) you'll amass a ton of money. I even nearly had 200gold AND all the clues, but I couldn´t, so I decided to do the "Complete the challenge with 200gold" achivement and then obtain the gold token at another time.

Tip: In the beginning, the Guild Master gives you a clue that normally says "Rowena will always tell the truth if you give her gold", and in the night of the assasination, if you talk to her and give her 20 gold (and complete the gambit), she'll tell you the assasin's name.
