Power bar for shots
Hi. I am new to this game and find using the controller very difficult. Obviously a lot of practice is needed.
A problem that I am having which I would expect to be able to solve in Options is the speed with which the power bar fills up. It seems that even the quickest tap sends the bar up into the red and leads to a wild shot. For example, when I do the direct free-kick tutorial my shots all fly over the bar. I can sometimes score by barely touching the button, but in a game, with a goalkeeper, this will never lead to a goal.
Does anyone know of a way to slow down the speed of the button press?

Try controlled shots, with R2(the right trigger) and the shot button at same time. Result is less powerful shots, but more accurate.

Thank you. I had no idea such a thing existed so will try it out now.

I can't find that anywhere in the instructions. The right trigger did not seem to make a difference but the left trigger did. The bar filled quickly but did not go red and my shots did not miss by so much, so I think this is probably the button on my controller. Mind you, I still missed every shot, no matter how close. I have now played about 10 matches and seem to be gradually getting better - the scores are always 0-0 or 1-0 to me. In all those matches I have not been awarded a single free-kick so my inability to take them in practice has not been an issue in the matches. Unfortunately, I have come to this from PES on my kids Wii. Although the Wii is inferior to a PC in every other way, the Wii nunchuck system cannot be bettered by a controller for this sort of game. Shooting by simply flicking my wrist is virtually perfect.
