Not speaking of the games quality, bot alot of reviews are saying this isn't an actual Muv Luv game and some shady third party developers thing. Despite it being free.

Just from the trailer I can tell that this is not good. What's the point of associating this demo with the franchise?

It's a VR Demo. It's intended to be a demo. They're thinking, if you read the page, of doiing a full on Muv Luv game.

Watching the trailer, I thought it looked awesome..

Sure it's ♥♥♥♥ you don't have VR(I don't), but just imagine that trailer in first person.
