First time CoH player needs advice for mods/expansions

Hello. I had bought the whole THQ Humble Bundle and of course in it, Company of Heroes + Opposing Fronts + Tales of Valor. Today I decided to download them all. I also downloaded Eastern Front and Blitzkrieg.

Now, my first question is about Blitzkrieg. I've tried to move the installer in the CoH steam folder, but it still says ""This Version Blitzkrieg Mod has been tested and developed for Company of Heroes v2.602. Your Company of Heroes Version seems to be different, or you play Company of Heroes with Steam. This could cause problems."


"Are you sure you want to continue?" When I try to run it. Except I've actually launched CoH and it's exactly 2.602. What do I have to do to make it work?

Also, I was kind of hoping that the expansions at least, and maybe Eastern Front, would load into CoH so that everything they added was available in the main game. Do I have to run each expansion separately if I want to play that content? For example, the dynamic weather system of Opposing Fronts is only available when playing Opposing Fronts and not the base game?

What you need to do is to update CoH via steam (should be done automatically). After that you can install BK normally, just make sure you install Bk into the Company of Heroes folder in your steam directory.

Verify the integrity of game files in order to force the update, steam version of CoH should be v2.602, it sounds like you have Bk installed in the wrong location perhaps?

And no you cannot load COH and have all the expansion stuff from EF for example running it has to run seperate from the desktop.

As for the weather the only way to get that going is as you say via the expansions or if someone loads a MP game that uses a custom map that utilises the expansion system'(s).

I already did. It validated one file, but it did not help; and no, as I explained the error happens just when the installation begins and I quit it, so this means that BK is not installed yet at all; I am running the installer from the very CoH folder in Steam, so.....I don't know what to do anymore.

I personally have yet to try Bk, i do have Easterfronts and it works in steam.

I would guess it is an issue witht he version of Bk you ahve and it *might* need a hotfix to install properly or a unique work around perhaps.

Some users had issues with the latest release of BK and had to un install it and manually remove any folders or files left over and re install it to work from what i read briefly.

EDIT: Also some ppl pointed out other mods were conflicting or had written over certian files that BK uses, and that removing those mods and re installing BK after removing those mods worked.
