Company of Heroes - Legacy Edition

Launch options, all the same in the end
I have all the games from that bundle they offer. The first time I launched CoH, only the Normandy campaign was available, the others were locked and it said I had to purchase the other games to play them. Then I launched OF, and the OF campaigns were unlocked, the ToV still locked. Finally I launched ToV and everything was unlocked. Now the interesting thing is that from whatever option I now launch the game (CoH, OF or ToV), it takes me to the common Tales of Valor screen, v 2.602, with all campaigns unlocked. So its seems redundant to have so many options that take me to the same thing. And CoH Steam on top of that. This one however takes me to a screen that says v 2.7-something and it seems to be a little more spotty (hitting Esc doesn't let me avoid the intro announcements for example).

Are you launching Company of Heroes New Steam Version? That should have everything unlocked if you have added the CD keys for the expansions to the New Steam Version by right clicking the game in your library and clicking "DLC".

But yeah, otherwise I am not too sure what the thread is exactly about.

I think it uses the Tales of Valor loading screen etc as Tales of Valor is the latest expansion in CoH.

I know the steam version unlocks all from the start, but as I said I don't use it because it seems to be buggy. I don't play online anyway. And the other version can be completely unlocked simply by launching every link in turn, as I did. But, take Shogun 2 for instance. I have all the expansions and DLC, but only one link appears in Steam. I have 4 links for CoH, all of which take me to the same menu. They should have integrated all into a single CoH link.

I think it is because the Company of heroes titles are all stand-alone titles and not 'dlc' as such. And because the ability to login to a relic account/servers is unavailable now each individual game doesn't know if you have the other titles, so they can't unlock all the content at once, and at the start.

The new steam version was created to access the online servers which were created after THQ went bankrupt and the CoH franchise was sold off. The integrated link is essentially the New Steam Version, which in singleplayer campaign shouldn't be too buggy. There is a guide in the New Steam Version guides section which can help to resolve some issues.

Pity about THQ. CoH is much better than CoH2.
