Normally, you should be able to double click the roguesquadron.exe to bypass the ROGUE.exe that runs the launcher, but this isn't working, and I get the launcher no matter what happens.
The launcher is irrelevant after it's first use, if at all, and it doesn't need to start EVERY time the game is launched. Is anyone else getting this behavior?
It's a shame because the GOG version simply adds a shortcut but this version functions almost as if each launch is running as a fresh install.
I can't be the only one with this issue? Am I the only person who is trying to play this seemlessly on my gamepad only PC, hooked up to my TV?
The steps include:
- create a JoyToKey Rogue Squadron Launcher profile
- assign a key to function as an ENTER press (I'm using the A button)
- assign the up and down keys to either the stick up/down or d-pad up/down (this is for launcher navigation incase you want to escape instead of launch)
- create a default profile that has no key bindings
- go to settings and select associate application...
- select add
- give the application name
- write in ROGUE.exe for the second field
- for the last field select the recently made rogue launcher profile and then OK
- where it says default behavior back in the previous menu, select the lowest option (Specify Default profile) and choose your blank default profile - this allows you to run the game without button conflicts
- save your settings and give it a try
I have also been using another profile to add the ESC key to the game with the gamepad so that I have a pause menu, but thats totally up to you.
I know this is not a permanent or proper solution, but it's painless, easy, and totally free - and it works just fine.
