So worth getting?
I haven't played this game in well over a decade but still fondly of it, I expect people will say save 10 bucks and just stick to original N64 version or is this one worth it? I dont see any mods or anything supported no workshop as I would think this game would have a lot of new ships to use.

If you can handle the pc version's camera bug then get it in my opinion.

You should be aware that this is not a new port or a remake. This is the game as it was when it was published in 1998—nothing has changed since then, except for the Naboo Starfighter patch (also from 1998).

You should be expecting 1998-level visuals, controls, settings, and compatibility.

If you still have your N64, I would say no. The PC version is slightly glitchy, and playing with a keyboard is not as good as with the controller...but it is playable. And as was mentioned, it's the exact same game so you're not getting anything new here.

If you no longer own a N64 though and you want to play this again, then yeah I'd say this is worth it.

i know of some patch like cheats, that let you do things like adjust damage values, use the hidden jalopy (only availible normally in the N64 version, even though code for it still is in the game files), and also the ability to use other craft on speeder missions. if i can track them down, is anyone interested in the stuff? i used them to mess around back when i got the game on CD, so i was running Windows 98SE at the time. not even sure if they would still work. but if there is interest, i will see if i can fire up my old desktop and make them availible.

finding the files online was a hell of a lot easier than i thought.... never would have guessed that the site i got them from years ago was still up. heres the link for the stuff: http://rogue.squadron.tripod.com/

Hmm well I'll just stick with my old N64 version until they do a remake or remaster if that ever happens.

Ha I remember unlocking the car to use very interesting.

I played this game back in the day in 1998 on the PC. I had a blast, but lost the CD some time ago. But I had real Voodoo hardware and a joystick. It's an old game, but fun if you like the other Rogue Squadron games. Although I was a kid back then, I don't remember bugs breaking the experience.
