Early Access Review

Steam, do something about this company; they're scammers. On Friday, July 3rd, they released two DLCs, and on Saturday the 4th, they randomly deleted players' characters. More than a week has passed, and they haven't resolved the issue, provided no updates, ignored support tickets, or taken any action. They're damaging your reputation with these unethical practices.

It's a complete mess, riddled with bugs they never fix, and their only concern is releasing content to generate revenue at the expense of player frustration. Besides that, there's a huge black market selling dinosaurs, kits, characters, etc., and the company itself is surely profiting from it illegally.

Early Access Review

It was incredibly difficult for me to write this review because I truly love
this game. ARK has been a huge part of my life for years, but I can no longer
ignore the direction it’s taking. I feel forced to write this because the
current state of things is simply unacceptable.

I am writing this with over 8,000 hours of experience in ARK on Playstation and
a significant amount of time here on Steam. I know this game inside and
out—every mechanic and every flaw. What Wildcard is delivering here with ARK:
Survival Ascended (ASA) is nothing short of a tragedy.

The Lie About Price & Monetization: Originally, Co-Founder Jeremy Stieglitz
promised that ASA would be a free upgrade for owners of ASE. The reality? It has
become one of the most heavily monetized games out there. Being forced to pay
double and triple for a "remake" that was promised for free is absolutely
brazen.

Broken Promises as a Tradition: There is one thing you can always count on: the
developers never keep their word regarding release dates. Delays aren't the
exception; they’ve become a tradition. This clearly shows that the studio
refuses to learn from its mistakes—or worse, they simply don't care about their
players' time.

Pay-to-Win (P2W) Destroying the Meta: We have reached the point of €5 tames (and
the price trend is rising). The Pyromane is the perfect example: it is so
incredibly overpowered that you are forced to buy it just to keep up with the
meta. This makes fighting extremely dull and repetitive because everyone just
"pops" that one specific paid tame.

Bugs, Exploits, and Technical Failure: While the patch notes list occasional
fixes, the game remains infested with bugs, exploits, and hackers. Instead of
stabilizing the game, they prioritize working on new paid content to milk the
players. The absolute peak of this was the Genesis Hexagon Exploit: it was
proven that the code was copied 1:1 from the old ASE. When ASA launched, they
likely accidentally left it in, which led to massive rollbacks on the official
clusters and the loss of countless player characters. This confirms where the
focus lies: making money, not bringing the game to a healthy state.

Performance & Graphics: The performance is only "okay" if you constantly use
console commands to manually downgrade the visuals. If you want to play with
native graphics without these workarounds, you need a NASA computer.
Furthermore, FrameGen is forced upon the player. They’ve worked on performance
since launch, but it is still far from good.

Playtesting is a Foreign Concept: "Playtesting" seems to be a word the developers
don't know. They could be building one of the best games alongside the community
by using test servers, but they choose to ignore feedback. Instead, new content
is pushed into the game in a completely broken or overpowered state without any
prior testing.

PvP is Being Ignored: The focus is clearly on the PvE community now, while the
PvP community is forced to watch as what was once the best game takes a
nose-dive toward the Earth's core. The developers seem to care zero percent
about PvP, even though a massive portion of the player base consists of
dedicated PvP players.

Failed Vision & Map Design: While most of the community misses the "primitive"
feel of ARK, the game is doing the exact opposite. The community is simply not
being heard. Additionally, maps in a remake should be improved, not made worse.
"The Center" is the perfect example of how to completely ruin a map during a
remake.

Conclusion: ARK ASA is currently not a remake born out of love for the game; it
is a means to an end to drain money from the players while technical quality and
balance fall by the wayside. It hurts to say this about a game I love, but if
you are looking for a fair, polished experience, you will be bitterly
disappointed.

Buy this fuc󠁦󠁦king game and get a free one-way ticket straight to hell. Ascended wasn’t made for fun at all, it was designed purely to milk money out of players. That money just gets funneled into making even more money, and fu󠁦󠁦ck everything else. It’s all about money, money, and more godda󠁦󠁦mn money.

How does anyone run this game?

I'm truly confused at how anyone is able to run this game and enjoy it. I have a pretty decent PC and the framerate is truly terrible. 7800x3d 9070 XT 64GB Ram 2560x1440 Medium settings is 60s with dips and lows in the 20s. I mean is everyone basically running it in potato mode just so they can play?
