NoX is probably my favourate singleplayer hack n slash game.
Diablo 2 is still my fav co-op hack n slash game tho...so i would say Diablo 2 but i kinda agree with Total: Different people love different settings and features.

I really liked TQ but the downside is no random maps...its all static, but it is a beautifuil game considering it came out a few years ago. The leveling system is good and all the quests are good. Just finished another play through yesterday :). Also you can get 2 specialties or major leveling spell/abilities trees.

D2 is just bots anymore and lotsa hacks.

Titan Quest is more of a long haul but mostly a single player experience. Higher difficulties add more content then just making things harder. Unless you have friends to play multiplayer with as finding a random online game is nigh impossible. There are some mods that change the game significantly or just upgrade the default experience somewhat. Most of them are playable online.

Diablo 2 is more multiplayer focus especially if you play on closed battlenet. It may be a bit innaccessible as thing have been minmaxed to perfection. Also bots, as mentioned above. There are some decent people out there, but they are few and far between. If single player is more your style it does get stale eventually. A few mods, like Medien XL, pretty much turn it into a new game. Getting online multiplayer with mods to work is a bit tricky.

Path of Exile is a minmaxing math nerd's wet dream of a game. It is mostly multiplayer focused. Skill tree is overwhelming at first but once you understand it you can use it to your advantage. The fact that active skills and ways to modify them are tied to gems that you sockets makes classes not restrict your playstyle. They are more different starting points on the skill tree. The economy is also interesting, but again difficult to deal with untill you learn the intricacies. It is in a kind of perpetual beta state currently so it's ever changing. More content is to come. Also it's free so no harm in trying it.

Agreed. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I went through each of them over the weekend because I couldn't decide what flavor of action RPG I wanted.

I'm just glad there are so many choices. It seemed we hit a dry spell in the genre a couple of years ago...

I have spent way too much time with all three mentioned games, but personally, I like Diablo 3 best.

I really enjoyed Titan quest, and would consider it my favorite of the three. But the creaters of TQ are currently working on Grimm Dawn, which in the small amount they have available in the alpha test phase looks really good, if you enjoy the TQ type of game.

I remember NoX too...NoX Quest was nutts, full of hackers as well as D2...have not gotten TQ/TQ:IT via steam yet, played it along time ago on another PC at a firends house it was fun when I played it, I have Win8 64-bit so I am iffie. POE though is confussing until about after your 3rd or 4th week playing it, the passive tree is nutts every class can play about 5-6 play styles or combine them for unlimited play, the actual skills are gems you have to level them up, then combo link them in the best combo (stay away from pvp until you know your class/gems) then you have the currancy which is another headache, I had to get an app on my phone just to be able to keep up with the trading.
