Titan Quest: Immortal Throne

Pets and companions
I am wondering when you get your first companion in the game. I am on Act 1 part 7 and I still havent found one yet. Seems like the last post was deleted so I am reposting.

i dont think you get any unless the class you choose has it as a skill.

There are no human companions only summonings every magic class has

Earthmages have a Corebeing (or something like that) that is a big tanky rockmonster

Soulmages have a Lich

Airmages have a Wisp

Dreammages have a creature called Nightmare (sort of a bat that uses dreammagic)

And Naturemages are the only class with up to 4 pets at once 3 Wolfes (2 when you have max skill but 3 if you get a Masterieshrine) and a Dryad

If you want to play a total summoning based build i would choose Nature and every other skill (good combos with earth or Dream since both skilltrees have abilitys to buff Summoned creatures)

Oh I see. For some reason I thought you get to summon compainons no matter which class you are. Must of been when I seen some gameplay. The player had a sword and sheild along with his minions. Right now I am a conquerer so I doubt I will be getting any.

Righty there. Conquerers can't get companions.

Here's a list of masteries that has though.

Storm Mastery: Wisp
Earth Mastery: Core Dweller
Spirit Mastery: Lich(e) King
Dream Mastery: Nightmare
Nature Mastery: Wolf (2-3 dependant on level) and Sylvan Nymph

Conqueror could use Ancestral Horn to summon companions. But that's not a permanent summons like ones listed in an upper post.

I usually would go Earth/Nature. This combo is called a Summoner. That has the max number of summons you can get if you choose to go that route.

i made nature + earth and i am having a lot of trouble in level 32, my pets die fast, do few damage and my char is weak because i spent all points to upgrade the pets... sad :(

Don't use pets on normal. They simply do not worth their points, especially that pets aren't cheap. Pets suck on normal, but get a huge boost at epic and legendary.
So, get through normal without them (spec into something else), respec and cruise through epic and legendary, since it is like the easiest build to complete the game.

hey bud you do get to summon if you purchase some scrolls that
allow you to summon like for exam the scroll that let you summon a cyclops an there is another

I built a ranger type -- uses archery and nature mastery. so I've pumped up Str and Dex to be able to use level appropriate shields and bows when needed and still can get wolfies. Dual Classing like this limits the height of the tree and speed of skill progression though.

I've analysed ranger before and found it to be useless as a pet class. Hunting skills are just too good to sacrifice for pets. Consider Call of the Hunt, Art of the Hunt and Scatter shot maxed + wood lore + study prey (without flushout if going pure bow). Probably also a Volley maxed, though I'm not sure it works with Scattershot, never really liked bow characters in TQ. You will probably want to take Herbal remedy 1 point too. This will net you to 43 lvl, which is 1Act Epic if you had used +%exp helmets and did a good job clearing locations back on normal.

Basically, If you can't prepaire your wolves maxed out at the beginning of Epic difficulty - you fail as a pet class. In this case you will either drop some really important skills for an archer or spend next 10 lvls maxing out Nature tree, and only then, at the end of Epic, your pets will appear, still weak as hell.

The idea of making a battle-focused pet class isn't new though, but is better pulled off with Ritualist (nature+dream), could be secondary caster or secondary melee, while pets are primary. Another idea is pet-using druid, secondary ice or lighning mage. This is possible because nightmare/wisp do not need that many points while still doing a great job.

thanks for the tips. don't remember what my tree spread was, though i was around lv 28 i think, after sporadic play off and on for like 4 years lol... I since sacrificed TQ/IT to the recycle bin/steam backup for the short gain of some harddrive space for shiny and new as every greek tragedy requires :P
