Can't Join Lan? [help!]
Howdy, so I am left scratching my head over this, I have gone through forum after forum trying to work out the issue and I just can't fix it.

So here it is:
I am over at a friends, we are all (3 of us) trying to play TqIT, we all have the same version, they can see and join eachothers games, I cannot see theirs, they can see my games but cant join it.

we have opened all ports needed, disabled firewall and added exceptions just in case.

What are we doing wrong?

We are all on windows 10 64bit.

Sorry to ask again, you are all in the SAME room and connected? or each one of you are playing from home? I need to check it

Sitting next to eachother, all Australian copy, bought all at the same time, all playing save version of the game, we even reinstalled and all opted into the beta (which didnt seem to work)
They can see and attempt to join my game but it gets a connection error..
When I try to go online I get a "Network error detected" but no other info.
We are running through a wireless network

1. try wired network.
2. check firewalls and antiviruses also.
3. make sure you have the SAME patch installed, there is also a fan patch called 1.17a (search for it)
4. Try useing a Virtual LaN program like Tunngle, Hamachi etc.
5. make sure you all Check the LAN button when hosting and joining in the game.

I know you are trying to help, and I really do appreciate that, but I can't help but feel your only reading half of my replies...
I have (as mentioned earlier) gone through firewall and antivirus issues, have already made sure we were on the same version and have tried both lan and internet.
We also tried the patch but it didn't seem to work/do anything, perhaps we did something wrong, the site we followed seemed to be written by someone who spoke English as a second language and was very hard to follow.

Hamachi might be an idea, I wouldn't touch Tunngle with a ten foot pole, its caused nothing but issues for me in the past.

Well, i am using tunngle and its has improved a lot since then. never had any problem playing lan, just tick upnp and ready to go.

Also, sometimes its good to double check everything, because may you have missed something. (in the local network are you able to see each other?)

That's why i keep telling you even though i saw your replies.try hamachi and tunngle and post results

yeah I will need to trial em next time I am around to play, and yeah we could see eachother on the network and played several other older games (such as stronghold crusader, Command and Conquer Tiberium sun and starcraft) All of which worked fine with no problems.. So not sure why

also i found

"" FIREWALL PORTS THAT NEED TO BE OPENED
I had the exact same scenario occurring, I could view SOME of the available internet games, but not all, and could join almost all, but never saw any other players, nor any NPCs within the game. I would then soon be disconnected from the game.

I opened the following ports and have not had a problem joining/playing since then:

Ports 42800-42805 BOTH (TCP/UDP)

(I only saw 42800-42802 in use in my router logs, but it was immediately after joining a game. it might need more, but I have not encountered that need yet.) ""
