Titan Quest: Immortal Throne

Titan Quest: Immortal Throne

New Computer - TQIT does not run. How to import characters from "SaveData" folder into TQAE?
Hi!
I got a new computer, installed steam and all games. So after a few years without playing, I tried to play Immortal Throne. The game starts (after solving the cd-key problem), but after creating a new character I click on play, it loads for a few seconds and crashes. No information comes.

However, I can play Titan Quest and the Anniversary Edition (which I never bought - seem like I got it automatically). The problem is: I had a lot of characters and a lot of purple items collected and it seems like it is all gone. Before I installed my new PC I copied all my game files on an external drive. So I still got my "SaveData" folder from Immortal throne with all the characters and items saved. But somehow there is no such folder now in my Titan Quest and TQ Anniversary Edition folders. I tried to just copy the "SaveData" folder into the game folders, but it does not work, the characters are not shown in both games. Does anyone have an idea what to do? Actually I would like to get both problems solved: running IT and somehow importing my old characters from the "SaveData" file. I hope someone can help, I put some hundred hours of playing time into the characters I had.

First - anyone that owned either TQ or TQ:IT via Steam got the AE version free when it came out, so that's how you got it.

I had the same Import problem; I had been playing TQ:IT, AE came out and I couldn't import my character. This is what worked for me.

First in the AE game: Create a new character, doesn't really matter what as you won't play him. Mine I called 'Bob'. Launch Bob so you enter the game in Helios. Than exit the game.

Now try to import your old characters. The best anyone could figure out was you needed to create a save game file in the AE version in order to import characters into it. Trying to just copy the old IT file over wouldn't work (probably because of coding differences).

Once you get your characters imported Bob can be deleted as he's served his purpose.
