A perfect comparison. That is exactly what it is and what XV3, if it ever comes out, will likely be. Heck, if Sims is any indication, it could be a visual upgrade, but and overall downgrade as stuff is ripped out and resold to us as DLC.
If nothing else, this is a definite situation where hype is a trick to try and sucker you. Better be cautiously optimistic at best and prepared to drop it in an instant if there's even a hint of them screwing it up somehow. Patience is a virtue and Fear of Missing Out is a deception. You can always buy it later long after, probably for sale, with any potential controversies having played out already to make the most informed buying decision.
