About unlocking the characters to play on Versus (Local)

Hey guys, I recently got this game to play with my sister and cousins, but honestly, I dont want to play the story mode or anything like that (I mean, I already watched everything on YouTube back when the game dropped). I just wanted the game to play versus mode with my fam, but all the characters are locked, you know? So, I'm wondering if there's a way to slap a 100% completed save from the internet on it, even if I don't have all the DLCs yet? (I know that this will not unlock the rest of the dlc characters, but thats not the point, again, I'm not after achievements or anything fancy, just some good ol' family gaming). Would there be any issue with the online mode? Thanks a bunch in advance!

Stealing someone else is save is a serious pain from what I have heard and the only modder I have ever seen who does the work for you would need a lot of info and time from you to get it done. The way I understand it is that you need access to the save file of each individual player because the save files can't be exchanged between players, which presents a bit of a challenge.

This^ is partially what a modder would be doing if you got them to help you out, main difference is that you would be giving them access to your personal files so that they can make edits vs you editing your own files. I would recommend playing the story until you beat frieza (unlocking the ability to fly in the hub world) and then just auto complete all of the quests with the save editor so you can get the maps and characters, also use the save editor to get the 7 dragon balls and fly to the Revive Dragon's temple which overlooks the main hub world and use the dragon balls to unlock new characters which is one of the wishes you can use. The editor also lets you give yourself money and skills as well as any outfits and items in the game so if you want to grab all the custom character stuff you can and then hop in the game and start mixing up a storm until you get a character setup you enjoy or find particularly cheesy so you can make your sister and cousins rage at your over powered or broken character build.

Of course a more seasoned player might know more on the topic and may even know a super easy way to pull off what you are hoping for but to the best of my knowledge the save editor and setting the quest as completed is your fastest bet.

hey again, THANK YOU so much, buddy! Seriously, I'll give you some points for going above and beyond in explaining everything in such detail. I figured it would be pretty tricky based on how the game works "structurally" in multiplayer... we were playing naruto storm 4 (and it was the same case, didnt want to focus on story, achievements, etc) and in that case I just downloaded a save from the internet with all characters unlocked and we just played versus mode until get tired lol, then I thought this game would be similar, but when I opened it, I knew it was going to be tough or maybe even impossible. Anyway, thanks a bunch for the tips and help. I'll send some points your way as a thank you gesture

Happy to help, just make sure to check back here on the forum later (probably over the next few hours or so) in case someone knows a faster/easier method, if nobody shows up then I would suggest going down the save editor route.
