Saiyans only get 1 different hair at the max SSJ3 that's it. No one gets anything super special except for Humans.
Make a game yourself before you call something Lazy.
Game Dev/Software Dev here. While I'll admit the idea of giving them some crazy transformation would be a lot of work, the Majin Form of just going "Pure Buu" does seem a bit lazy compared to the others like Giant Namekian and PP+Nimbus.
I haven't seen Frieza Race Gold Transform enough or SSJ transform enough to say which is more lazy (those are transformations which apply stat changes and palette changes, Pure Majin just seems to be kid Buu)
If the Pure Form was essentially a recolor of Kid Buu, it does seem a bit Lazy, as its nothing necessarily "new".
Also that being said, I would see them pulling a Super Buu transformation in a similar way, except maybe give the female gender an actual feminine look.
Also Lore based in DBO you needed Dragon Balls, so unless you get the transformation via wish, it seems a bit of a contradiction to the DBO lore.
Also I'd like to mention the Kid Buu transformation in Lore seems a bit of a contradiction itself, but we'll avoid that for now.
Honestly if they really did want to try a bit harder, it wouldn't be too much to make an improvement if they just did a super Buu transformation where everything but the head(specifically the hair) was similar across the two genders. It would be more tasteful than what they have now. But that would be my answer to the feedback given that wouldn't take as much work. Considering the only thing missing would be 1 model(female super Buu) and then just the hair/head styles
Also let's be clear on Buu and Miss Buu, what he did is more known as a fission which created an entirely new entity, and he did it based upon a female human in an adult novel. They are at that point not the same. Just the place of origin is the same.
Buu or the first one arguably also isn't genderless, he might have been at a certain point(as he was the only one), but after he made miss Buu, there was a clear distinction against genders(also before anyone starts ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I'm talking about the social construct gender, not the biological sex, so don't get all riled up and go, "Blah blah, genderless" because we honestly don't know ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of how resembling Buu made Miss Buu of a female human and so fourth.)
All we do know is the new majin method if reproduction is to take parts of themselves, shove it into a shape, then blast it with a beam that somehow creates a new being.
Besides, we call Piccolo a guy dont we?
Also anything we all say is from flimsy anyways unless we can someone get them to listen to a solid idea and implement it with a small amount of work.
Edit:I will say pretty nice banter tho. :P
When I looks at the other transformations, I think all of them are kind of lazy.
And yes it leads to much lazyness like the "pure majin" form in the various games just so majin player characters can have a 'transformation' forced into them, when its not even like Kid Buu was the strongest form of Majin Buu.
The franchise declined? I mean I didn't like GT but it seems they brought it back with Super
Right but doesn't he just oversee and not really mess with things too much?
You'd be surprised while the game isn't canon they have to stick to certain ideas and concepts, IE they couldn't do SSJ5 because isn't an SSJ5, i seriously don't see them changing this because its canon from the game they drew the most inspiration from.
It was the same in DBO
If they were going to alter it then, they would have done so before now... its not going to change.
Edit:
in fact name one plot point, or character concept/design that was not present in the movies or games they came from that has changed? because as far as i can tell XV stayed as true to the source material as it could... aside from the time travel changes which i'm not even sure they realized they goofed on.
And yet with Budokai 3 on console we saw things like, what happened if Tien and Yamcha used fusion, or Goku and Hercule...not out of the realm of cannon at all...
Yea fusions which were more of a " for fun " concept, and you know what? we never saw it again...
