DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2

DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2

Statistiche:
Unable to see players in Multi Lobby all of a sudden.
So ever since about 5 days ago the Multi Lobby completely stopped showing other players, I can't even use search player function to find anyone as it comes up with no players found.

Though the game does let me supposedly connect to the lobby and the Xenoverse servers, getting invited to PQ or PVP rooms works just fine.
Has anyone else been getting this problem? If so any ideas on how to fix it?
What I've tried so far is basically;

New Save File.
Reinstalling the game.
Disabling/Enabling AV and Firewall as well messing with exceptions.

I've also got no mods in case anyone wonders.

Run your command prompt as Administrator:
run the command: ipconfig/release
run the command: ipconfig/renew
run the command: ipconfig/flushdns

do this once a day when you first boot up your PC
This will fix the issue but must be done every time you boot/restart you PC
In order to play Xenoverse Online.

You guys have to do this every time you start Steam. Doing it only once won't do.

Yes, just tried that again (while steam isn't running - ipconfig steps under CMD as admin > start steam > launch xv2 > start game with multiplay lobby) after seeing your post but no luck either - ended up joining an empty lobby.

A friend recommended doing it with Steam already open, not before opening
So, I've managed to get a little further with this bug, just to recap.

So to date, I've...
Reinstalled the game
Reinstalled Steam
Wiped my drive and reinstalled everything
Wiped Windows and Reinstalled Windows
Tried an entirely new save (This achieved some measure of success, but not in seeing players, but fixing the mission crash bug I encountered after reinstalling windows)
Merged saves
Made a new save and ported over characters.
Tried a new computer
Tried a wifi connection through my phone to subvert my router

Nothing worked.

Then I climbed into the attic (long story) to reset my router.

And now everything seems to work just fine.

I don't get it.

But I have learned something.

While playing with a friend last night and still encountering the lobby glitch, it turns out that I actually *was* in the multi-lobby. Or rather, he could see me. He could see me moving, jumping, my actions, and followed me around Conton city. But still I couldn't see anyone.

What this leads me to conclude is that, maybe this is related to incoming connection speeds, there's enough Data getting through to render the information of players (I:E, player challenges, Leaderboards, and so on) while preventing the visual data of the players location from coming through, due to a bottleneck somewhere along the line between router and PC.

It's likely a blocked connection port somewhere in the router settings. I had the issue starting in March and still do even after buying a new PC rig (Reasons for upgrading were unrelated to the bug but figured it's worthwhile information). I might dig into the router information directly at some point to look into it.

If that was the case than it was a port that got blocked and unblocked in the span of like 2 weeks with only resetting the router being the catalyst for any change in port behavior. Because I *can* see people again

Sadly the IP config was only a temporary solution every time, though after having to reset my router at one point it seemingly started working fine again for the most part, occasionally the problem comes back and goes again.

I hope Bandai fixes it :burosob:

I had someone message me in regards to this thread, and we're both in agreement. This has to be an issue of connection between Steam and Bandi's servers. I think we can officially close this thread with the answer being

"The game is experiencing a connection issue between Steam and Bandi's servers. The best way to counteract this bug is to ensure your connection is stable and you're capable of joining endless battle/mission/player match rooms. The only real solution to the issue is to wait it out. It seems to strike indiscriminately and at random and is definitely a connection breakdown of some sort. Beyond that, it's out of your hands.

You can reset your router, and flush your IPconfig with the Command Console to try and fix it temporarily, but these fixes aren't guaranteed for everyone."
