Steam Deck & EAC

Since the game is verified for the deck, I thought I would be able to use the online mode on it.
But I always get the "game started without EAC" message at the start.

Do I have to do something specific for it to work on the deck?

My deck is in online mode when starting the game.
I even see the EAC logo for 2 seconds.
Also tried using different proton versions from the compatibility options (experimental, 7 and 6)

ur game goes offline casue eac is needed for play online and when disable/ not working u play offline mode in game not the steam itself

i think the ppl helping are missing the point i think the issue is he wants to paly online but cant get eac to load up when he starts the game on his steam deck he is wondering if there a way to get it to laod on a steam deck for online mode

what i know,
EAC dont work on any form linux,
so it wont be on deck,
without EAC you cant play online

As the others said EAC doesn't work on linux as a lot anti cheats don't work on linux, but if you're looking for playing with friends if you're able to access your game files you can remove the EAC files in your games directory, any friends you're trying to play with also have to do this though, and for your game to boot in online mode you'll have to boot the game from the xenoverse directory (after you've removed the EAC files).

You may need to go into desktop mode to do this.

EAC does work on linux, it's just that its up to developers to allow it upstream or not. Look at Apex Legends.

This is really a thing?? This could be great to play with friends. But how can you play with friends if you don't start from Steam?

Hey man,did you get it to work? I'm running into the same problem and I've tried enabling proton and other stuff and nothing

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 online atm doesn't work on Proton unless the devs make it works, which is possible and "easy", but...they have to do it.

So it's not just me? Good,well not good,but I thought I was just being super dumb and not enabling something. So dimps need to enable it themselves?

You can play single player only. I have.

Anything online is not possible without dual booting into Windows for EAC to work.
