if i use a cosmetic mod i get banned
I always wanted to mod some appearances of my characters but I'm always afraid to put these mods and end up losing the game (since it's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ expensive here in Brazil) and I have this doubt, and I also know that whoever uses mods for pvp is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, it's just cosmetic.

I don't think you will get band if it's a cosmetic mod. as long as you're not mixing around with anything that makes you stronger or gives you different skills you should be fine. I could be wrong because I don't use mods.

You can mod without getting banned from the game or the ability to play online, but you are extremely limited in your options. You might notice one or two individuals on PC with SSJ3 hair and/or that breaker mask you only see late in the story mode on your XV1 character.

You'll notice that those items are strictly in-game and "mods" in the sense that you can modify the game to allow you to access or use the items in ways you normally wouldn't be able to do.

Other mods (like ones you have to download or involve modifying game files) won't work if you want to stay online but you can play the game offline with whatever mods you want without getting banned.

Nah you wont get banned for modding unless you're actually using 3rd party tools that are designed to hack the game and cheat other players, a lot of people dont know the difference but trust me you wont get any actions taken against you unless you are legitimately trying to cheat against non modders. Since modding disables your online play except against other modders you're fine no matter what type of mods you use. Ive been using mods since 2018 and havent had a problem and this is coming from someone who has a minimum of 205 mods installed at once, from equipment to skills, characters, PQs the list goes on and on.

If they were gonna slam the ban hammer down on me it would have happened already lol.

Oh btw OP, if you have any questions about modding in general please feel free to ask. Id be more than happy to assist you. If you're looking for a cool cosmetic item though

https://videogamemods.com/xenoverse/mods/male-hooded-saiyan-armor-with-ultimate-shading-r-support/ Try this one. It comes in a colorable and non colorable version in the same pack. There is also a very similar mod but for SYF.

I think the question has been pretty well answered at this point but to sum it up in one or two bullet points:

  • If it modifies the game's files directly, such as replacing default models and modfying files to work differently then you will be limited to offline game play ONLY during the time that you are using directly modified files. You can go back to vanilla files and return online

  • If it's a save edited "mod" like the time breaker mask and SSJ3 Hair it will be allowed as long as it's not blacklisted by the game already. If it's a blacklisted skill for example the game will simply delete it from your preset. But there are no permanent bans implemented at this time

Just to clarify, a black listed skill is simply a default skill that isnt supposed to be used by CaC. As far as no bans being implemented at this time, that will never be a problem as steam has no control over banning you from DBXV2, if you are banned on steam you are banned mainly from Valve games and its only on secure servers. However you can still play those games on non secure servers but its going to mean that damn near everyone is going to use cheats in some fashion.

Now you may say this has been answered well enough, it might appear that way but you'd be surprised at how many still ask questions in relation to things like this. So giving them as much information as possible is a good thing.
