Im trying to do online battles and PQs with my friend and the timer counts down to zero and doesnt load us in. Does anyone know how to fix this? Idk if this is just an outage or if there is something wrong with my computer. i also tried reinstalling the game and that didnt help

Opting out of Steam's Beta updates fixed this for me and a friend. Find the "Beta Participation" options under the Account tab of your Steam settings and pick "NONE".

Keep in mind as well that even if you unchecked it. Someone else that has not done so might hang your lobby until they're kicked so..

so im having the same problem but opting out of beta didnt fix it a friend said the last update with steam caused the problem and to do sometihng with the peer to peer and the remote play settings said only a developer would know.

New Steam Client update (Feb 5th) may have moved whatever new settings were messing with the rooms from the Beta into the main Client, as there was some mention of peer-to-peer settings. Hoping this wont be the case since Steam might not pick up on this and BandaiNamco certainly wont.

Okay, Yesterday it worked with a friend, But Today it DOESN'T work with a different friend, No Beta in settings, Still stuck in Waiting Room with the counter stuck at 0

Feb 5th update for non-beta Steam client seems to break Xv2 now as well, likely for whatever reasons they beta client did.

I got a friends build from December 2020 and added a file named "steam.cfg" to the directory with the steam executable. "steam.cfg" contains two lines that read: BootStrapperInhibitAll=enable
BootStrappedForceSelfUpdate=disable

This cfg file was taken from the one the version that was maintained online to make windows xp still usable and to keep steam from updating on launch.

Edit: This allowed me to play online.

I can confirm that this seems to work. Pretty sad that a steam update breaks a game's online functionality so hard
