So then Super Vegeta 2 better than SSJ3?
Seems like SSj3 ki drains crazy fast while super vegeta 2 doesnt drain anything, and it seems more powerful?

Super Saiyan transformations do not drain ki in this game. SS3 has ridiculously decreased ki gain from melee attacks (to the point that some people believe it doesn't get any ki whatsoever), but also higher basic melee damage. On the other hand, SV2 has higher ki blast damage than SS3 and the same ki gain as SS2.

There is no ki drain from transformation. SSJ3 removes the ability to receive ki from basic attack or from being hit, but you can still receive ki from a super soul or using Energy Charge/Full Power Charge/Maximum Charge. Also, each transformation have their own purpose. SSJ3 is oriented towards Melee/Striker while Super Vegeta 2 is oriented towards Ki Blast.

None of the Super Saiyan tranformations drain Ki unless you have a certain Super Soul equip. Each stage just makes it harder to generate Ki with the exception of Future Super Saiyan which has 1 satge and actually makes it easier to build Ki. Super Vegeta is more for Ki Blast builds since it give a boosts to them.

iirc super saiyan 1 and future super saiyan are identical in terms of boost to strikes and normal attacks. super saiyan 1 has a larger boost to ki supers, but future super saiyan has no ki regain penalty. super vegeta is like super saiyan 1 but has worse bonuses to strikes and normal attacks, but better bonuses to ki blast supers.

super saiyan 2 slightly better bonuses, less ki regen. super vegeta 2 again, slightly better bonuses, less ki regen. unlock potential is almost identical to super saiyan 2 but no ki regen penalty and needs 5 bars to activate, also better bonuses to ki blast supers vs ss2 (not sure vs super vegeta 2).

super saiyan 3 is an absolute beast, but im not sure about ki blast bonus vs super vegeta 2. however, MASSIVE ki regen penalty. you are not gonna be regaining ki via melee in this form unless you do like 50+ hit combos.

kaioken is slightly worse than ss1, kaioken x4 is slightly better than ss1 but slightly worse than ss2, kaioken x20 is almost the same as ss2 (better boost to ki blasts).

EDIT: overall, i think ss2 is actually the best form (although i use future super saiyan more because you can activate it faster). to be perfectly honest, there aren't that big a difference in power between forms, the differences are trivial, like a 0.03 times more damage between forms or something similar to that.

Actually Super Vegeta 2 deals MASSIVE ki dmg, more than SSJ3. In terms of 360 dmg damage, however, SSJ3 is the best choice of everyone out there because it also power up basic attacks and strikes. That % between them is not so much and u are more strong because you can deal more damage generally speaking without putting points on melees. Ki aura regen is damn low but nothing it can't be solved since u still can break stamina + kick away your enemy and charge up. All of this in terms of PVE.

One thing i still don't know if Unlock Potential is actually good or not. SSJ and SV are definitely better in terms of damage and Future SSJ and Unlock Potential are good to get more ki and a little more stamina regen but their respective powerups are so low that they are good only if u don't have other transformations aside them.
Unlock Potential were really strong back in XV1 but now it seems not and it's even harder to get (29 tries to get it after 3 days straight of reeeally bad words and stress) which makes me wonder is utility. I'll try it with a strike build later but for now, as a ki user, i'm so damn disappointed.

yea potential unleashed is insane good. 15% damage buff to ki blast and strike abilities and increased ki gain. 5 bars to activate but its well worth it. Not as flashy as the super saiyans but damn it gets the job done. Also it doesnt give you the teleport on light attacks like super saiyan but still its great. For the record i believe ssj3 is 20% melee damage buff and 10% ki. and super vegeta 2 is like 17% ki damage and 10 melee. The super vegeta stats could be a little off, im not 100% sure

The teleport affects far more than just light attacks.
Frey_R Nov 13, 2016 @ 12:39pm
The teleport occurs when you charge any charge-able super moves (Kamehameha, Galick Gun, Evil Explosion, and maybe other ♥♥♥♥ like that), and also when you charge the heavy basic attack, on top of when you just do light attacks while being too far from your opponent.

And SSJ3 does NOT completely stop ki regen. It's just nerfed to the ground, but you still get some, and you still regain the same amount of ki whenever you get a clash and when you perfect block.
