The Truth About "Arcosians"
Yes, this is a pet peeve of mine.
No, I don't care if anyone thinks I'm being nitpicky.

Anyone who uses this term is mistaken. Period.

I'm not trying to instigate an argument; I want to enlighten folk who may not be aware of this. Freeza's species are not Arcosians. "Arcosian" isn't even a thing.

It was a term that popped up exclusively in the English dub of the Dragon Ball Z anime during a scene in which King Kai was explaining the history of the Saiyans to Goku. The term does not exist in the original Japanese dub of the anime, and the aliens in question don't even appear in the Dragon Ball manga.

Additionally, there is no evidence whatsoever that the individuals to whom King Kai was referring were even members of Freeza's race in the first place. At all. The aliens we saw doing business with the Saiyans were wearing cloaks and masks. They don't even remotely resemble whatever species Freeza belongs to, if you look closely.

The only information we know for certain is that they hired the Saiyans to conquer planets.

Whatever organization these aliens belonged to, there is no information to suggest that they even had any connection to Freeza's empire whatsoever.

Freeza's species has no name. None.
Why do you think they're known in Xenoverse simply as "Freeza Race"?

Remember, these were the same people who claimed Bardock was a "brilliant scientist".
So to everyone in the Dragon Ball community, kindly stop calling Freeza characters "Arcosians".

Because they aren't.

It's not a thing.

Already know all that but at least there is someone willing to tell people the truth about that race
ZeSentinel Oct 27, 2016 @ 8:21am
okay
It would be nice if Toriyama eventually gave them an actual name.
Bungus Oct 27, 2016 @ 8:25am
Oh. Well, thank you. Damn english dubs

Known it. Named them Icejin. Done.

Yeah, its fanmade. But I'm to lazy to write everytime "Freezer Race" or "Freezer Clan" or whatever. And Both Arcosian and Icejin sounds much better...

And, addionally, must time I name the Saiyajin simply Apes. So... everyone can say to them, whatever they want.

Some people say simple Lizard... :D

I'm pretty sure everyone is already aware of this fact

What I'm trying to understand is why you seem to imply it's better to just call them "Freeza race" rather than a legitimately badass sounding actual name until Toriyama decides to actually give them one

The coin came up tails, so I'm adopting the term solely to annoy people. I basicly gave up on what is canon and what isn't after learning just how little Toriyama himself cares about the canon. Toriyama may not have worked on GT much, but he was going to let it be the canon ending until everyone hated it, so I just don't worry about it much anymore.

Arcosian Lives Matter, bruh.

It's just not confirmed. This doesn't mean it wasn't a special hint or addition in the dubs (these things happen and can sometimes even change the events of the manga). This doesn't mean you shouldn't be cautious when pulling in information like this.

More so than just the other similarities from the name, the use of saiyans among several other things, the big reference was from when we saw Chilled (Frieza's ancestor) wearing a hooded robe very similar to that of the Arcosians. Now you need bigger pieces than just a piece of clothing in the Dragon Ball world, but that's what the other pieces are for.

So just remember, don't ever kill an entire topic or concept just because you don't agree with it. One day Toriyama might throw us a pitch from other end and confirm it canon, but for the time being it definitely is not. However, it's mysterious enough that it doesn't really need a confirmation either. Take it how you will.

Also, almost all of the power levels people believe in are wrong.

Because the name is incorrect. The name isn't even a real thing. It was a dub only line.

You can call Freeze's species whatever you want; just know that they don't actually have a name and whatever you're referring to them by isn't legitimate.
I always liked Frieza's race name as "Changeling" or "Iceling" i never fell for the Arconian ♥♥♥♥.

What would you prefer, "Frieza Race", "Frost Demons", give me a break! I'll stick with Arcosians thanks.

Not only does "Arcosian" sound like a decent name for a species, but it also fitting for Frieza's race, given that they use ice puns as names.
