Not really. Its really easy to level up a new character once you've beaten it with one character, the 40 ton weights super soul doubles all exp gains. Once you've beaten the main story, go up on top of the yellow roof dome above the PQ and battles robots, in the middle is a npc named Nits or something like that. She'll hand you that super soul just for talking with her.
Honestly I like it this way. Its not 'reeetarded' like you seem to think it is. I can see where it might be frustrating, but honestly running through the game with 40ton weights I can probably hit max level in 10-15 hours of play time. My first character didn't have those and I got him to level 80, legitimately, in under 28 hours of play time. And I'm not even the fastest at it.
But most MMOs now have shared connectivitiy between characters either through some sort of a collections window, or reputation, and/or whatever.
Wait what? Is it an MMO or is it an RPG, because those things aren't one and the same.
And no, it's not an MMO or an RPG really either. It's certainly designed like one in regards to it's hub elements but there's nothing massive about it. It's an online fighting game with a hub world.
Over the years the term "MMO" became this nebulous thing for lack of a better description.
A lot of what we see now days are simply just Online RPGs. There's nothing massive about them in scope or scale, but since "Online RPG" isn't actually a genre (that people know or use) people use the term MMO for so many things when really they should have another name.
What I mind is being forced into the tutorial portion again before I'm allowed online with a new character. The tutorial is so lame and I've already been through it.
to do them again .... like the videl and gohan was stupid was hard to hit them they kept dodging
Making a new character and leveling it up is fun. What I dont want to do is see all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cutscenes again in a story that doesnt even make sense to begin with. I want to play the missions that I CHOOSE. Not that the game chooses for me. Like I could in xenoverse 1.
Protectors of time, piss off. If they gave a damn about time, they'd kill trunks, let goku die of his heart disease and let the androids rule the earth. ♥♥♥♥ story. ♥♥♥♥ cutscenes. ♥♥♥♥ game mechanics in that aspect. Let me keep the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ parallel quests unlocked.
No, that's your inventory which is something that never carries over between characters in MMOs.
In an MMO when you get a new weapon or piece of armor and have it placed in your bag/inventory. When you log on to another character in said MMO your bag/inventory doesn't have all the same items in it that you had on your other character.
The reason why the inventory items are shared between characters and nothing else is because there are no scripts, flags, or triggers associated with character inventory the way there are with story progression. For example when you beat the Saiyan Saga there is a script that runs which tells the game to unlock specific PQs, items in shops, masters in the city, etc, etc. There are no progress markers that unlock more inventory slots, or open up new intentory tabs or anything else like that which why they can be shared across characters.
What XV2 does is actually somewhat backwards compared to what MMOs do given that you can basically have the best gear in the game from the start and even use it at level 1 not to mention have all of your skills as well from the get go where as an MMO requires you to level to obtain skills.
I actually like replaying through the story and want to continue to do that. Certain people are saying that everything should reset because your starting over the story, but here's the thing though...
- PQs aren't part of the storyline (lore wise they're missions for all time patrollers. Not just you)
- Master relationship levels aren't part of the storyline (and really aren't needed anyways)
- If it's truely a new beggining/life why/how can you have all the dragon balls, outfits, skills from the start?
Look, this whole discussions is moot as ♥♥♥♥ anyway. You're right, PQ's should NOT reset. Masters, I hope DO reset, or let em add a "Don't interfere wiht my battle" option. Considering these lazy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ didnt add a 'set no trainer' button.
This game is uncomparable to true mmorpgs. Local saves, localised stats and a one time release with a handful of cashgrab dlc's. Do not compare this game, which is at its core a fighting game with up to a handful of people, to an mmorpg.
At best you'd call it an rpg with online capabilties. But a rose by any other name is still goku. They need to fix this trash, xenoverse 1 did it better.
Those that don't agree, are either mentally challenged or the ones who end up making tops two characters. Unlike people such as myself, who sink in hundreds of hours into these games. I refuse to have 50% of that time, be wasted on cutscenes and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ story. Let me play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game the way I want, my missions, my own story in my head. Not this bullshyte.
Neither I nor (insert name of countless others) want to go through the tutorial and skipping cut scenes over and over again just to beat story mode. We also don't want to have to beat story mode and have to REUNLOCK every dang mission with a new character. I want to make 16 characters, each a different race/gender with different ability setups. You're telling me that I have to repeat the ENTIRE game just to test out new character builds? That is stupid.
