Game not running well? Maybe this will help.
This port is mysterious. There is no denying it. It's riddled with bugs, the support and response time is (understandably) worse than the main PS4 game, and most importantly, a lot of PC exclusive options give the game MAJOR problems. Obviously there's no way to fix the bugs or support, but what I can do is help some of you getting a smoother running game.

As a note, these are my experiences and may not actually help you out, so if my advice doesn't help, I'm sorry and don't be rude. Also don't talk about how "bad" the port is, I get it, I don't want pointless complaints.

So lets get started:
Resolution
Obviously changes the resolution the game runs on, this option alone will help increase fps, although minor, the more and more you go down the size.

Refresh rate
Fullscreen only, self explanatory and doesn't need to be gone over.

Display mode
Also self explanatory, fullscreen will help your FPS the most if you REALLY need it.

Vsync
Once again, self explanatory. For the most part utterly useless in windowed or borderless, even fullscreen for some. Turn this off if using variable, it neutered the potential FPS you game can really run at.

Framerate
The main bulk, the thing that flat out sets the..framerate. 30 sets it to 30, 60 to 60, variable is variable, or atleast, you'd think so. Apparently, 60 fps does not actually run at 60 fps, at least for me, and ranged between 54-59 fps. I would heavily recommend setting this to variable, you'll get the most out of it

FXAA
A very ugly anti-aliasing lets be honest, but hardly effecting on your hardware, you'll lose 1 fps at the most.

Distance Scaling
This also a good chunk of FPS, fps improvement of about 3 each. Personally, always avoid low, it's INCREDIBLY obvious and unpleasant.

Texture Quality
SET THIS TO HIGH, NOT MEDIUM OR LOW. FROM MY EXPERIENCE, THIS IS WHAT CAUSES THE LOADS TO FREEZE. Nice port.

HDR Filter
..It's an HDR Filter, doesn't seem to affect anything.

Shadow Quality
This one is also a good chunk of FPS, you get a 10-15fps gain the lower to you. I'm personally on Low, it gets the job done. High seems entirely pointless and doesn't look much better than medium, not worth the fps it takes.

Motion Blur
That thing 60fps games do not need, imo. Adds blur to all the motions done in the game, about 1-2fps difference if turned off. Mines obviously off.

Glare Level
Sets the intensity of the glare, mostly in areas/stages with a sun. Washes out the colors, which is a negative for an anime game to me, so I have it off entirely. Not very massive on the fps, about 1-3fps the lower you go.

Depth of Field
looks awful in this game pls turn it off and also a good chunk of fps

Grass
Makes small grass patches in varies stages and the hub. Not too impactful, 1-2fps

Characters Limit
Probably the only option that really cares about your CPU. Set to Low if you're offline only or don't care about viewing people from the other side of the hub.

Massive Particles
A VERY big chunk of fps...in some stages. Most noticeable in the World Tournament with it's confetti and the Glacier with it's snow. I'd recommend off if you want that fps.

Light Shafts
I actually can't tell any difference with this one.

In short, turn vsync off and set framerate to variable, keep your textures high if you don't want to freeze, keep shadow quality low, DoA low or off, and Massive Particles off. This will make the game generally run A LOT better for those experiencing issues.

As a reminder, these fps changes are from my own experience, and I hope they help others.

EDIT: Online caps the fps to 60

Just turn depth of field to either off or low, it looks awful on High, it blurs everything and eats your fps

Bloody wonderful post. I never realized that the textures setting was bottle-necking me so badly. Indeed, switching from low to high improved loading times by 20-30 seconds! With Med textures I can't even log into multiplayer due to timeout.

Disabling Massive particles is also a good tip.

It works for me. You should make a guide.

Should be pinned, a lot of people might need this.

Yeah it's a real mess, it shouldn't have this issue but it does, so using high is the only option. Granted, if you ran XV1 well, I'm pretty sure texture quality wont be an issue since they're exactly the same. It's these other options, like the shadows and doa and massive particles, that are hitting the fps, not the necessarily the textures.

My mic is busted, so I couldn't really make a decent video. Plus it's more or less just switching three options, so the video might not be necessary.

Would be nice, the freezing and frame dips in areas like Glacier are very common, this post can certainly help reduce that if the word got out.

I like this post, but I find Massive Particles too important to me. Sure, I have an unreal fps drop in Glacier and Destroyed Namek, but I like the rest of the maps more, so I don't mind them

That's fine, I personally like them off just in case someone picks those two stages. If those stages were fixed up I'd be down for turning it back on again.

I had found about depth of field in another video but the rest of these settings are very helpful to know.
