Max breaks down the new DBZ fighting game.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HE7a2jOjcE

Doesn't look bad, doesn't look good. Honestly it looks like marvel with a reskin into DBZ form, is that bad? Hell no it isn't, does it fit the DBZ universe? Hell no it doesn't. Seeing vegeta tag in with random people is odd. He didn't tag, nor did frieza etc. So, I can expect this game likely won't have a story or will have a very weird one.

Also, the various straight to final forms and not for attacks looks....weird. Frieza doing his crusher attack and reverting immediately back to final form. Most people wouldn't notice that, but I did. Something else that bothered me is what max said "So there are auto attacks."

This means there is a small button input into a stringed combo that cannot be avoided or tech'd. If you watch the video you will see him do it multiple times near the end and if you pay attention, you will see the insane damage it does. LvL 5 supers also do around 70% of your opponent's HP, which wouldn't bother me if just one punch was enough to set up for it. Hell even gohan's FSK hit with no problem.

The one thing that is bothering me the most is the assist function. Where it is a wonderful idea and adds some spark to the game, dear lord the reload on the allies is waaaaay too low. Being able to summon again after like a second is insane. Especially with the damage they can do.

All in all, the game is going to look fantastic and fans of the GG franchise will eat it up. Will the game stay in the GG art style? I'd say one type, yes. However in another way, I'd say it is a nice change of pace and will let people who aren't generally DBZ fans experience the world of DBZ and immerse themselves in the hectiness of the fights, but in no way should people be bashing xenoverse because of this game's production.

Max is one of the humblest fighting game people in the world. He doesn't care if he loses and he plays the games to make things look flashy and to do as he says "Cool ♥♥♥♥" infront of an audience. He is hype for this game because a few weeks before it was released, he discovered Hyper DBZ. He isn't even a DBZ fan but he enjoys the game.

As for who cares what he has to say? Probably somewhere around the 14million people who follow him. The multiple million that watch him. The thousands that watch him stream every night except mondays. The multiple people who commented on Rhyme and Afro's videos "You were too loud in max's video." but I dunno, could be wrong.

When it comes down to breaking down mechanics however? Him and his friends are quite good at it and they are friends with some of the best players in the world. So, if I had to choose someone to listen to? I'd listen to him far before I listened to you.

Now go check out how Rhymestyle and Afro play and you'll see the difference in casual players and fighting game players. In that short tutorial, Max did more combo links than the other two do combo drops lol!

Well then there are 14 million rеtаrds, because people that have brain don't watch "let's plays" or "twitch сгар"

I love how you guys are linking an older video of him fighting and none of the newer ones. The guy is generally quite good at fighting games and has rather good reaction times and reflexes, both of which are key components to being good at fighting games. Also, like I said, he is a very humble player, whether he was years ago is completely irrelevant. I only care about the here and now, but I've been watching him for years? Sooo, so what?

The point is I trust the guy to break down mechanics as he does with just about every fighting game that has come out. He plays a mean robin for instance in Injustice 2 and that is saying something considering Robin needs a lot of fancy moves to be viable. I like Rhyme, I like Afro, but those two are not fighting game players. The thing is though, is watching them, you can see just how simplistic the control system actually is because they picked it up FAST, really fast and did things just as quickly.

Like I said, is the MVC idea bad? No, it isn't. It's a good idea, but I just have a feeling the game will disappoint people more than wow them because so far imo the only thing the game has going for it that keeps me captivated is the graphics.

exactly, its not bad, but its not great when it comes to being AN ACTUAL DRAGON BALL GAME. you can reskin this game to be a marvel game and it would make as much sense...
again its not bad, but its not great, and neither mechanics atm look to me that detail and open to be competitive ready

Sandra Crimson Jun 14, 2017 @ 6:27am
This is more of a "MEH" game to me IMO but it's not terrible :P

Dragon Ball Fighters Z is made by Arc System Works. They're the same guys who made both Guilty Gear and BlazBlue and I have mad respect for them for doing that.

I watched the gameplay, and honestly, it looks like Guilty Gear X Marvel but better. It definitely looks fun and hype and I'm going to buy it when I get the chance.

As for the competitive scene, I need to get my hands on it to see. It seems semi-casual when I analyze it and I hope to god it isn't. I hope there's just as much depth in compared to BB or GG. I want to see this at ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ EVO.

The problem with this is the audience target isn't your normal fighting game fans. With it being DBZ and not BB or GG, they have to stay within the audience that appreciates the anime/manga and sadly, the last few years it has been catered to kids. I hate saying that, I do, but Kai and super are for the younger audience. This game from what I've seen from a control aspect will be focused around that HOWEVER, there will be people that master it and do things casual players cannot do and that is what will make it a fun fighting game. Will we see it at evo? Possibly, but I wouldn't bet on it.
BrigadierRosen Jun 14, 2017 @ 7:33am
too be honest even though i will never play it, at least dragonball will get more popular on a whole as a franchise.

but people will feel the need to make useless comparisons and pointless whinge as per usual.
Six Jun 14, 2017 @ 7:51am
I'll probably pass on this. Too much investment to be 'good' in my eyes, and I'd rather not gain recognition from elitists who don't know how to have simple fun with a video game.

Looks like it'll be great, though.

He's not good at all, he gets destroyed easily, and then cries, much like you Kashra. https://youtu.be/SKQZ1O34XBo?t=8m59s Even with your speed hacks, you still garbage.

Ah yes, the infamous Utmost wicked returns. Yet you still don't show the fight of beerus vs piccollo, it's fine though but meh, I am not here to fight you. You have these mental issues that I just can't put my finger on or help with, personally, I don't even know how you're still around on the forums, but meh. Not really my concern is it?

Anyways, the thread is about the new game, which I can only hope you won't be there, but we already know the answer to that. You should leave your means of making multiple accounts and arguing with yourself in the past though. It gets kind of sad.
