Does height matter?
If i understand correctly height determines health bonus/movement speed, is there any reason to be shorter or taller based on what kind of build you choose?

While not as big a difference as before, height matters in terms of HP vs movement speed. Again, it's not much, though. Another place where height matters is in collision boxes. Smaller targets might make it a tad harder to connect some attacks. GoDA and most death beam type attacks for example have a hard time hitting smaller targets. They can connect, but not from as many angles as if you were fighting a much larger character.

The taller your character is, the slower you are but the more health you have. Vice Versa. The skinny character has slightly more ki blast damage but weaker strike/basic attacks. Vice Versa.

thanks for the detailed info, but i was wondering if there is an optimal height choice for lets say strike/ki based builds or if its just preference

I think going for smallest is best - there are no souls, QQ Bang, or point investment to increase your speed. Furthermore, there are soft caps on attack investments, so you could divert extra points to your health stat to compensate for the lack of health.

I thought I saw a z soul that increases speed (M) I'll try to find it and post a picture. Unless I was hallucinating.

Burter's soul increases movement speed. There's also a kid buu soul that increases boost speed.

i go small (not smallest), no debuff on hp and quick enough for what speed is useful = step dash and fly without using stamina :), this if i need a lot of melee (basic atk/strike) if i am more ki oriented i go instead tall since i need more hp for take some combo and store ki with max charge, then depend on racial base HP, saiyan males for example have it low so the buff on HP from height is barely noticeable, so even if i go with ki supers i prefer to go small for to be quicker in step dashing with combos (saiyan males take abetter buff from speed than from health), as namekian instead i go tall, same for male majin or male earthling, i fvaour speed (so small) on female majin and earthling and frieza.

They about to fix a couple of the "bugged" moves and hitboxes

For melee builds I'd prefer not to use the smallest build because of the HP bonus taller builds have, plus the fact that move speed means only running and non boosted floating around. Boost dashing and other forms of boosting is affected and governed by other things it seems. At least I have not noted much difference in boost dashing from a small to a tall character. So for melee, max weight for power and a bit of height for HP.

Ki blast builds can use small frames because they are not supposed to be in the fray for long. They should be more mobile.

You can't flee dude, and for use ki blast you need to stop unless it is a chainable super in combo which are very few for ki blast, mobility should be considered in an offensive way for when you try do infinites combos not defensive, the Y+A dash (on x box controller) can't be avoided.

That's mostly for 1v1 in which case the rules of fighting change a little (for example, try using Maximum charge on a 1v1 for more than one second). The game has pve and 3v3 pvp as well, where you will want to be mobile as a ranged character while your allies keep the enemies (human or cpu) occupied and infinites are nearly impossible to fully pull in 3v3 unless all your allies are doing infinites at the same time.

Though as explained by the guides and such, the difference in speed and hp based on height is smaller than in XV1. It's to make anything related to race and physical traits not matter much when making a build. So a short thin fe-saiyan can still use basic attacks or strike supers to some extent and can still have a decent amount of HP, for example.
