I'm trying to puzzle out what the best way to buy the DLCs is, and which I should skip, and they do not do a good job of making it clear which are in which.
They've also renamed the Season Pass (included in the DDE) to the Super Pass, which covers the four Super DLCs but not the four Extra DLCs (now in the Extra Pass).
So was this done a while ago or just before the sale?
The Extra Pass is the bundle that includes the last 4 DLCs in an all-for-one purchase. A kind of new story mode, more characters (ie. Son Goku Ultra-Instinct, Jiren, Gogeta Blue, etc).
Read their descriptions on the store, it s pretty clear I think.
So if you want EVERYTHING you have to buy:
Xenoverse 2 + The Super Pass + The Extra Pass
despite the music ...
Buying now at current sale without deluxe bundle costs me 726 UAH for all dlcs. which roughly translates into 26,48$
Note: by dlcs i mean some actual content, not that slice and chop music pack crap.
I think the answer is very obvious as of to why they removed deluxe bundle.
They are literally trying to scam the community with this move, the deluxe edition was already cheaper than buying base game + season pass (which is now called super pass), it was even more cheaper when in a sale. Now you have to buy base game and essentially 2 passes with content. And to top it all of, the sales on consoles are simply just too awfull for these kind of games. The base game costs 20€ right now on a ps4 sale, non of the dlc content in on sale which is stupid, to get the full experience on ps4 i would have to spend 20€ + 25€ (super pass) + 30€ (extra pass) + 5€ (pre-order bonus), the total value would be 80€, which is equivalent to the launch price of the deluxe edition. On xbox one the value would be 75€ because the base game is 15€.
I've already been digging through databases and the current occuring sales in both ps4 and xone, the americas have sales on both game and dlcs while EU only has the base game. On xbox one, both americas and the EU only have a discount on the base game. On steam, the discount applies to base game and dlcs within the region of EU, idk about other regions as i didn't bother much with the pc side.
I see no reason for them to be limiting dlc sales for ps4 americas. The deluxe edition move they just pulled is more than clear what are the intentions behind it, but these promotions.... are just awfull and not carefully planned. You can even go to steam and compare the prices of the last 4 extra packs to the complete extra pack, you will be saving more money buying the packs 1 by 1 rather than buying the complete pack because the first 2 dlcs are 50% off while the complete pack is still at base price.
DBX2 Deluxe was under 29€ at the end of November in ps4, right now it doesn't exist. The base game is 20€ while the season pass ("super pass") is 25€ in base price and most likely 12.5€ when with a discount according to previous sales.
To me this all looks like a major d*ck move from the publisher, it's christmas ffs, it should be the moment of the year were game sales peak because of discounts, along with black friday. With this attitude of theirs they just lost 2 potential sales.
I have to say this was a really scummy move and cost them my buisness.
Same, I was waiting till the Winter Sale to pick this up, but this is unacceptible. Flippin' Bamco. Just had to leave the Deluxe edition as it was and I would have gladly picked it up. Oh well, lesson learned.
